Killed an E8400 first up. My dumb I guess. Don't turn the pc on till the temp is at least -20C?
So put an E8600 in, and that booted. EP45-UD3p o'mine had a cold reboot problem till mobo "warmed up". That settled down after half a dozen power off restarts...
So for my very first effort: http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2343223
That crashed with a 1A, and either I need a reinstall, or I've taken the edge off that chip, because it bluescreened at 5.4GHz/1.648v (1.62v bios) with a 50 after that.
This particular CPU is a hot running processor. Already noted that when I put it under a heat sink of any kind. At CPUZ 1.536v (1.6v bios) my phase can hold it at -40, but if I raise to the next increment I get CPUZ 1.648v (1.62v bios), even if I disable LLC, and my phase can only hold that at -30C.
It's 1:30am here now, so tomorrow I'll put one of my E8500 or E8400 chips under it that run at normal temps on air, and see how they go.Edited by alancsalt - 4/24/12 at 8:26am
