hey guys, I'm rethinking building HTPC for HD movies, however I don't want to spend to much in this so would you recommend me CPU, PSU, VGA and motherboard around 300 bucks. IDK if there's VGA that support DTS audio. I'm also thinking about mini PC which around 300 bucks. Thank you.

Get a i3 2100/Pentium G620 paired with a H61/H67 board. As for the GPU, not sure but a GT430 would suffice I guess. Get a CX430 or any cheap but reliable PSU.

Yeah afaik it supports Tru-HD and DTS-HD over HDMI.

I'm not too sure on DTS audio on Intel HD series.

If they don't get HD5450/6450 as they have DTS-HD and TrueHD over HDMI.

A6-3500 and a cheapo A55 chipset mobo for an IGP solution has been tried and tested good to go with madVR's highest quality settings by the pros at the AVS HTPC subforums and it's rather dirt cheap if u ask me wink.gif

Or even possibly an A4-3400. I have one and it's great. thumb.gif AMD APU's are great for a HTPC and are cheap. biggrin.gif

I guess I'm get Intel G620 because i'm using 1155 motherboard, so it will better if one of my system's problem occurs. About GPU, the GT430 has better feedback then HD series at same price range. But I guess I keep thinking about it till i get the paycheck from my job.
BTW, I also looking for a cheap GPU for SLim case, must have audio output, to plug in TV to watch steam movies.

With a G620 you will have no need for a GPU. It will pass all audio over HDMI also, 5.1/7.1 DTS, DTS-HD, TrueHD, AC3.
So all you need is g620, 2x2gb ram (could do 2gb but for $5 its worth having), Case and psu.
