Mary over at Custom Laser Design did the cutting and etching for me, and did it for a great price. If you're looking for custom acrylic etching, she's the person to talk to.

thumb.gif That really looks sweet with the purple lights....... Even though it is a decepticon.

So, tragedy today. I got a 7970 with an EK waterblock, and was all excited to get the thing in there and see what it could do. I got it all set up, and turned it on. The lights on the motherboard all show green, but I'm not getting any video. Switch to another PCI-E slot, still nothing. I read up that I might need a bios update, and I can't remember the last time I did that, so I pop my old 560ti in to do it... and still no video. I have no idea what could be wrong, the computer isn't posting, no beeps, keyboard and mouse don't light up, hard drive isn't spinning up, nothing. It's late, and super hot in my room, so I'll tackle it tomorrow. Probably take the whole damned thing apart and put it back together. I am absolutely distressed that it might be the motherboard... I just dropped $500 on a video card, don't want to have to spend another $200 on a replacement mobo. We'll see. Taking the water loop apart is such a pain in the ass, too. I really should have set up a drain system rather than just wrapping everything in towels and hoping for the best. Maybe that's what happened, I got it wet when I was disassembling it before. Though, that would usually mean a short, right? The motherboard doesn't seem to have any issues with power. Heavy sigh.

this is a great build, however this ending is anticlimactic to say the least and this is also why i will personally never divulge myself into full watercooling loops. *shudders* sorry about your problems bud, i hope that you get em all figured out.

Okay, fixed it, new Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 to replace the Crosshair V Formula... Not as nice, but it works. I'm going to see if I can get the Crosshair RMA'ed, I only got it last October, and I can't see anything that's obviously my fault. Then maybe another build!

Also, the 7970 with EK water block is just fantastic. Looks great with the backplate, too.

Why would you not do full water loops?
