Google Chrome - Invalid Server Certificate

Thread Starter
Just recently (last night) I opened up Chrome and got a red screen error that says:

Invalid Server Certificate
You attempted to reach www.google.com, but the server presented an invalid certificate.
You cannot proceed because the website operator has requested heightened security for this domain.

I get this on Google, Twitter, and some other random websites, but some websites load up fine.

I uninstalled and reinstalled (not before disabling all my extensions), and that seemed to be fine.

I turn on my PC again today and I get the same error.

Anyone know what could be causing this? Or how to fix it?

Yeah. Nothing really changed since it happened. No new programs or anything like that. When I opened up Chrome a while before I noticed there was a .zip file downloaded in the progress bar at the bottom, and it was on my desktop (was something like 1012930, or some random numbers), and I deleted it.

Possible virus? Firefox works no problem.

Yep same for me here.

I'm getting invalid certificate on all Google owned sites, also Google Chrome its self keep refreshing the page that I'm on (that's on all sites i go on)

So for now i will be staying away from all these sites until the problem is better understood (i would advise that any that are not sure them selves do the same)

If you're still getting this you have to go to users/yourname/appdata/local/google/chrome/user data and delete the chrome_shutdown_ms.txt file that is created when you close chrome. Then you can open and it will work properly. Except when you shutdown again it creates a new one, that you have to delete again, etc. etc.
