Hey guys, I have been frequenting these forums for a while now, but never gotten into building my own Computer. I am going to try it out, and I am posting to see if I can get some feedback on what some of you out there in this community think.
Please any opinions, changes, feedback (negative or positive) would be greatly appreciated.

Cost is not really a deciding factor, but if you can think of better or comparable options for a lower price, please chime in.

CPU - Intel Core i7-3820 Processor
Motherboard - ASUS P9X79 DELUXE
RAM - Corsair Vengeance Blue 16 GB DDR3 SDRAM
Video Cards - 2 GeForce GTX 570 HD Superclocked
OS HD - Corsair Force Series GT 120 GB SATA 2.5-Inch SATA III Solid State Drive
Storage HD - Hitachi Deskstar 3.5-Inch 2 TB 7200RPM
PSU - Corsair Professional Series Gold 1200

Case Options - Thermaltake Level 10 GT Snow Edition Case
Corsair Obsidian 800D Black Aluminum Case
Corsair Special Edition Graphite Series 600T Case
Lian Li V Silent Series PC-V2120B Case
SilverStone Temjin TJ09 Tower Case

Cooling - Liquid cooling wither by WCUK or FrozenCPU.com

Thanks for taking the time to stop in. =)

I'd say, go with the i5-2500k (if overclocking) or the i5-2500 (if not overclocking). LGA1155 still rocks you out of your socks.. They're cheaper in the ways of: cpu, cpu power draw and motherboard price. that's a winwinwin situation lol
  • Motherboard - ASUS P9X79 DELUXE: in case you're staying with your i7, sure why not. If taking my advice and going with the i5-2500k or i5-2500, the asus z68 deluxe will suit your needs more than enough (litteraly, more than what you need, lol).
  • RAM - Corsair Vengeance Blue 16 GB DDR3 SDRAM: please do cram it down to 8Gb unless you're sure you wouldn't mind spending money on it. I've got 16 gigs of ram myself, I can't even fill up eight of them with the normal every-day processes and programs. Your CPU will probably get loaded to 100% of its capacity before you even reach 5Gb, lol.
  • Video Cards - 2 GeForce GTX 570 HD Superclocked: the gtx570 in SLI sure is a fine choice. I also understand your choice for getting an already boosted edition (overclocked). But, I disagree on the 1280MB vram you're having there. That SLI setup will have trouble with high-end games after a while. You would be better off with an SLI of EVGA GeForce GTX 570 HD 2560MB versions ;D. If you follow the advice from above here, you'll sure be able to afford those. Not sure whether you are planning to, but these 2 in SLI would even be great at tri-monitor gaming. #badass
  • OS HD - Corsair Force Series GT 120 GB SATA 2.5-Inch SATA III Solid State Drive: Corsair mostly is a good choice, with all kinds of products and yes it also goes for their ssd's. Note that sandforce chips do show the lack of quality sometimes (you just have to be the guy with bad luck to get a malfunctioning one). If you're feeling like not having that trouble, you could go with the Corsair Pro Performance series, which use Marvell chips instead of Sandforce. They're both at about the same speeds wink.gif.
  • Storage HD - Hitachi Deskstar 3.5-Inch 2 TB 7200RPM: good choice
  • PSU - Corsair Professional Series Gold 1200: not sure...it's kinda overkill, you would be fine with an AX850, but yet again, if you feel like you can afford it, why not?
  • Case Options -
    • *Thermaltake Level 10 GT Snow Edition Case - no idea lol, weird looks, lots of functionality, no idea about the price tag. Can't say anything else tongue.gif
    • *Corsair Obsidian 800D Black Aluminum Case - don't ! I'm not saying this because it's a bad case, but because of the case lacking air cooling capabilities. It would be unwise to use this one without watercooling your wares.
    • *Corsair Special Edition Graphite Series 600T Case - thumbs up for this one smile.gif
    • *Lian Li V Silent Series PC-V2120B Case - very high price tag, though lian-li always offers very fine quality, I would not suggest getting this case (air cooling doesn't look great here either)
    • *SilverStone Temjin TJ09 Tower Case - also gets a thumbs up
  • Cooling - Liquid cooling wither by WCUK or FrozenCPU.com: ? what you do mean by this tongue.gif full liquid cooling is totally unnecessary when overclocking... if it's a semi-water cooling unit (the corsair h-series for example), then sure. You're not being very clear about the type of cooling.

There, that's about all I would say right now. This kind of rig should be good enough fo heavy duty gaming (: hope I could be of any help

Thanks for taking the time to stop in. =)

I say for the use of gaming rig, wait for ivy bridge corei5 3750K + z77 motherboard this late april, that way it would be latest build, the problem with corei7 3820 + x79 ~ is that its not for gaming its for productivity cpu intensive purpose like video rendering, games will usually take of 2 or 4 cores for the cpu's @ 3ghz+

for the ram, the z77 will have the same norms as the z68 1155, they will be dual channels so, 2x 4GB ~ 8GB @1600 speed will be enough.... as games usually uses 4GB less, but some like BF3 reach pass the 4GB caps..

for videocard, instead of SLi gtx 570, go for the gtx 680 single videocard, its latest, faster & has support for multiple monitor ~ 4

for psu 1200W is too much, you can save more by going the around 750 ~ 850W ~ seasonic, fsp, antec, corsair, nzxt brands, its more than enough....

for case you may want too see the NZXT Switch 810, it has the watercooling option top or bottom mounted & cost less than you choices & has a classy looks.

Sorry, didn't realize it was a necro thread. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
What kind of monitor(s) do you have and what games/other tasks do you want your computer to do? Without knowing these things, a build can't really be tailored to you. Any brand biases we should know about?

I can say this: If you just have one ordinary 1920x1080 monitor, you're throwing money away.

Edit: @below: Nah, no big deal. Just me being dumb.

No need for an i7-2700k if you're just gaming. Drop down to the i5-2500k and pocket the $140 difference.

You're welcome smile.gif these choices are a very nice balance and you'll love it from the first time you turn on the power wink.gif.
Just a few remarks:
* i7? read below in next quote :d
* z77? You'll get about as much features as with the z68 models, for much less buck. I'd say, think about it one more time to be certain you want/need the new features the z77 board has to offer tongue.gif
* gtx680: awesome for you to be able to go for this one straight on! Just know that there will be 2 models: a 2Gb and a 4Gb model. If you're going for a multi-monitor solution, I'd recommend the 4Gb model. If just using 1 monitor, the 2Gb model will be fine.

valid point, I can't see anything about a cpu cooler anymore so here's another detail: if you're not planning on getting high clocks: don't get an i7-2700k. Having a cpu like this would probably be very rewarding, but as a gamer, you won't even use half of the money you used on it. Hyperthreading is still a pretty expensive technology for its low amount of usage (for now, games do not make use of hyperthreading). Since you didn't mention a certain cpu cooler, I guess you won't be overclocking much either, so you won't need an unlocked multiplier for overclocking. Unless you would really feel happy with it tongue.gif I'm sure you'll be as happy with an i5-2500k/i5-2500
