The Storm Trooper- An Amateur White HAF 932 Mod

The Stormtrooper:

After seeing my dream cases, the NZXT Phantom and Switch 810 I longed for the smooth sleek plastic feel, the sheer elegance of NZXT cases. Their beauty taunted me, to the point of madness!

Over the past few weeks I have been contemplating buying one of those new cases, however my very modest budget, and lack of a car prevented me from doing so. Somewhat distraught with my circumstances I decided to make due with the resources that I have at hand to create the best possible looking mod.

I started out with the stock HAF case along with all my existing components, with a new edition:
A NEW GTX 480!!! A great improvement over my old 5770. other than that all of my components are the same as my signature.

So without further monologue here is my mod log in hopefully chronological order.

One of the first steps was to disassemble my computer to allow for modding and painting.

Once that was complete I de riveted the case using n 8th inch drill bit. The main goal along with painting was to remove the drive cage so that I can migrate the drives to the media bays. But of course, modding is nothing without..... FOOD!!!!

Once that was done, painting was a breese!

One special thing that I did was coat the mobo tray with spray on truck bed liner which turned out great!

700

So with the painting I decided that it would best If I didn't use my computer for about a week, but that didn't last long at all!!!

359

Letting the paint dry for a few days, I came up with a great idea and cut a window into the case with my handy-dandy dremel! U channel molding helped me hide the slightly uneven cuts-grinding that I did. One thing that I am still considering is laser etching the acrylic panel with my school's epilog laser.
if anyone has any good Black and white stormtrooper themed designs I may pick one for my window.

Now it was time to put everything back together! I went zip tie and tubing crazy on it but I think It came out quite good!

One special feature of the build is that I was able to get access to swap bays for all of my drives! now I can switch em with no effort at all!!!
Pardon the glare.

I had some LED lighting handy so I incorporated that into the build as well. So here is he pretty much completed build, but I am thinking of fabricating a compartment for the psu which will be shown. note that I will spray it black when the compartment is ready.

700

And here is a shot of the tubing madness!

700

All of this has been done by no other than Mr. Bond himself, or at least just a well dressed high school student.........

I hope that this build will be considered for a mod competition. I think I did pretty good for a young novice!

I love the idea of a vader case however my next build in the works is a WOW build for my sister with laser engraved game artwork. If anyone has any simple maps of azeroth and good black and white game artwork I would love for you guys to be in contact. The persons who help me will be forever apart of the caseby getting their avatar and username engraved on the case
as credit.
