yeah i dont think it a requirement for 3.0 16x unless your using like crossfire 6gb 7970's lol. it depends on the mobo on what ram it will support, some say they will do 2800mghz ram, where as one of those on newegg said only 1800max, id have to look up ones that arent on sale yet

this one looks pretty nice. two pci 3.0 16x slots, no thunderbolt, cheap compared to 400$ limit. and looks nice, im sure there are someyet to come out that will be better. why is it that you current mobo is failing? maybe if you switch to stock speeds instead of 2000+ram you might get better reliability in the meantime

I think theres something wrong with my nb. I'm not actually using the 2133 stick at the moment. Im using some 1333 clocked at 1692.and it freezes more often at stock speeds actually. it might also be my cou.

I really like the sabertooth. I mean I don't know how it performs yet but I like the look, and that it has 2 pcie 3.0 slots. I don't know if it will support the 2133 ram but I imagine it probably will. thats not really important. you said something about thunderbolt header. does that mean it has thunderbolt?

Are the freezes actual freezes, or is it just jamming for a few seconds? I say this as I have just resolved a similar problem with my own system - it turned out that it was my wireless card drivers.

2133MHz RAM: All semi decent boards will support 2133MHz RAM, don't worry about it.

O wow I just watched linus' video of the sabertooth. I did not realize thunderbolt was possible on this board. I think he said something about a pcie card that one would need to control it. might you know where to get one?
