GPU watercooling 7970, a help please !

Hello everyone

I've been thinking a lot about watercooling for my Sapphire 7970
Can anyone please help me, what kind of hardware do i need ?
If you don't mind, a link for the item please

Thank you smile.gif
Do you already have other watercooling parts and are adding the 7970 to a pre-existing loop? If so, you'll just need a 7970 waterblock such as this one.

Yes, its very important to know what all the loop is going to cool, and what your existing water hardware is.

For the 7970 alone, I'd be going with an EK Acetal block myself (jab tech has them in stock). That's JUST the block though, you do need an entire loop (obviously) for it to work.

Well, you're going to need the following:
Pump - MCP355 is a good starting point
Block - EK Acetal 7970 Block (try to avoid the nickel ones)
Radiator - XSPC EX series, you'll want at least a 240mm for JUST the GPU, or a 360mm for CPU / GPU (can be added together, so a 240 + 120)
Tubing - Primochill. Shoot for 1/2" ID, 3/4" OD if using compression fittings, or 7/16" ID if using barbs.
Killcoil - Silver...its about $5 at any water shop.
Distilled water - A couple of bucks per gallon at the dollar store...buy quite a bit, so you can flush things nicely.
Barbs, or compression fittings - 1/2" barbs, prefarrbly large looking ones, or compression fittings designed for the tubing above.

Honestly, you might as well just do the CPU too, as its just one more block and 2 more fittings, assuming you get enough radiator space (a 360mm radiator will be enough, or a 240+120).

Total cost will be about $300-350 or so for doing it this way.

Or you can get an XSPC Rasa RX360 kit (if you can fit a 360 rad), and just add more tubing to it (the stock stuff is junk anyway), and add the EK 7970 block, and you're done. This would be cheaper, and you could cool everything this way.

yes it is pricy but,
The major difference in the RASA RX360 Kit and RASA RX360 Extreme is listed below!

-Pump Upgrade to the D5 (Alphacool VPP Single)
-CPU Block upgraded to the newer, better performing Raystorm
-Choice of tubing color
-Compression fittings instead of barbs
Comes with a free kill coil

then get a gpu block and 2 more compression fittings

seems pretty good to me
so this kit is for CPU and i just have to buy a block 7970 for the GPU ?, << correct me if i am wrong
By the way, my case is HAF X, is gonna fit right ?

Do you suggest me to go ahead and buy this kit ?, Because i don't know which brand is better than other ! smile.gif

This kit is absolutely EXCELLENT. You'll need a 7970 block, 2 more compression fittings, and you might want to get more tubing. I'd suggest 10 feet if this is your first build, so you have enough scrap to spare if you screw up and cut one too short or something.

Here's what you'll need on top of the kit:
XSPC 7/16 x 5/8 compression fittings (2 of these)
EK GPU Block #1 (you only need one of these 2 blocks)
EK GPU Block #2 (you only need one of these 2 blocks)
EK Backplate (Optional, makes the top look nicer)
Primochill Tubing (get 7/16" ID, 5/8" OD...in whatever color you want, try to avoid clear) (10 or more feet of this, to be safe)

EDIT:
It SHOULD fit in the HAF X, but don't quote me on that. Take a look at your case, and see if you can fit 3x 120mm fans somewhere all in a row. If you can...then this will fit fine.
