Raise vcore then, lol. I doubt your RAM is holding you back at 333MHz and 5-5-5-18 timings.

Just watch the temperatures like I said, Prime will get that CPU very toasty. Since it failed immediately, then raise your voltage a good bit. Example, say you're at 1.40v now, shoot for 1.45v. Only reason for SUCH a big jump, is because you failed so quickly.

hi, right thats me failed on worker #2 now, realtemp and core temp are reporting different temps, core temp is consistent with the latest update of an imported user setting on speedfan Could atm i lower my vcore back down a little till i get an immediate fail then increase it again in increments?
Also, is this where i increase my vtt? i believe it should be set to 1.55 regardless of where my vcore is at.
regards and thanks

You're at 3.6GHz with stock volts basically. You're going to need more voltage (that was my own mistake, I didn't ask what your VID was). Raise it up to around 1.45v, and try it out. Just watch those temperatures, and stop Prime if you pass 70*C. 72*C at the absolute most.

Looks like you might need better cooling honestly, you're hitting 65*C without a full load even already. And this is on stock volts.

im already on 1.45 see post #13 strangle ive had this up to 3.712g with my temp not exceeding 60 and that was only using 3dmark tho,
Coretemp is showing my vid @1.35, cpuz is showing my core @1.376 so it doesnt even seem to stick at the 1.4/ or now the 1.45 setting as per bios, - this is what i mean there is something strange going on ---- maybe?
Should i put my vtt @1.55 as shown in the other link i posted from oc.net?
If i am going to need more cooling, then although fairly cheap im just throwing more money at something i wont be able to use if i do upgrade my cpu and mobo?

You could try VTT at 1.55v. I didn't screw with it on my Q6600 rig, but I have a different board. *shrugs*

CPUz is showing your correct voltage. 1.45v set in BIOS, and its dropping to 1.37v. That's normal. So try for 1.50v in BIOS then, this should give you around 1.42-1.43v in CPUz. There's always going to be a droop between what you set the voltage to, and what its ACTUALLY giving you.

Right so far, i set my bios to 1.51250 and worker 2 stopped, so i looked at cpuz which showed vcore at 1.424 that gave ma 3.712g so i upped it a lil to get me a core of 1.45 so i upped my vcore to 1.51250 and upped my fsb qdr to 1700 which gave me 3825mhz see attatched photo for temps, - imm assuming my temps will go higher if i can get prime to stay running?
-2012-apr-7-002.jpg 308k .jpg file

EDIT: i reseated my hsf the other day but had a little trouble getting it seated first time, so im going to go back into it and seat it again to be sure.

You're not even passing at 3.6GHz, why are you raising it to 3.8? confused.gif

You need to try one thing at a time. Get it going stable at 3.6 first, and see where you're at. Once you get 3.6 to run stable, then start worrying about pushing higher.
