Intel 520 120GB SSD BSOD issues

post #1 of 7
Thread Starter
I recently purchased an SSD, in title, and now I have random BSOD issues. I went through the Windows 7 SSD guide by Sean here on this site and did everything on there and I still get BSODs when my computer has been on for awhile or if I am running multiple apps for a little bit. My motherboard is a little older but I never had any issues when I was using a HDD for my main drive. I do have AHCI set in the bios and all my drivers are up to date with the 2012 version of Driver Pack Solution. Does anyone have any ideas or anything else I should try to fix this?

You should check the firmware & see if it's up to date,Flashing the firmware may fix the issue.

I have the Intel SSD Toolbox installed and it is telling me the firmware version is 400i. I checked the Intel site but the download page only shows the release date of the utility program to update the firmware and not what the firmware version is. Also, this drive was only recently released a month or two ago as I bought it when it first came out, do you think they would have a firmware update already?

Maybe,hard to say if they have a firmware release yet.
But have u tried reforming your ssd to see if that fixes your issues?

Edit::::No,No new firmware yet.

Yeah I just got back and started checking but I didn't find anything new. Thanks for the help.

Ironic that some people recommended Intel SF over other mfrs' SF. They all seem to still exhibit issues. I'd suggest that you also post on Intel SSD forum to get help. It also helps to head over to OCZ, Patriot and Corsair, too. OCZ forum has a lot of pointers for eliminating potential sources. Good luck!smile.gif

Is your system overclocked?

Do you have a crash dump for the BSOD?
