[neoseeker] Bioware giving ALL SWTOR subscribers 25 friend invites each

There must be some Old Republic players out there complaining they don't have enough friend invites to share with their 25 closest buddies, because BioWare has raised the MMO's Friends Trial limit from three to a whopping 25. That or EA desperately wants to bolster their potential subscriber base, and they're casting a very wide net.

They got 1.7 million because it has the name "Star Wars" on it. It is not new or innovative to MMOs. It is the same old same old.

i wouldn't be surprised if they lost the 1.0 off that 1.7 million subs already with the way they're giving these free weekends and spamming trials out to everyone before the next tally is due.

advertising it as "your star wars saga" and having every player follow the same story is lame and kind of false advertising; i miss galaxies, even the post nge version was better than a "taken by the hand" themepark mmo, is WOW or EVE like this?

Sadly I agree with you. I started SWG a couple months after launch and suffered through the sneak attack launch of the CU (Which I still had fun in) and though a bit of the NGE before all the people I played with ended up quitting so I did to, and I think I had more fun then I did "playing" through three of the SWTOR betas.

IMHO SW:TOR is pretty much a WoW clone in all respects. OfC there are some differances but I really can't think of many when it comes down to gameplay. EvE is different in that the Missions have no structure like the Avatar based ones. AKA you can run any level 1 agent anywhere in the galaxy not just in one of 4 starting zones.

I really wouldn't be surprised if SW:TOR went F2P this summer, it isn't innovative or different. Sadly just another chapter in the crap that Bioware is giving us.

Bioware is in damage control it seems and it looks like they will try anything to get customers. After the dissapointing ending of Mass Effect 3 and people dropping their SWTOR accounts in protest I am not surprised by this, hopefully they learn from this.

Yay, Star Wars Galaxies love. biggrin.gif Such an amazing game, even CU. Heck, I probably would have came to enjoy NGE if everyone in every guild that I knew didn't quit the very day it went live. I logged in a few months later and there were only two people left in my guild. Theed and Dantooine Mining Outpost were completely empty save for droids spamming obscenities. frown.gif
