I'm possibly looking forward to a 6 month subscriber count with a certain petty glee I'll admit, but ultimately I don't want swtor to fail. I hope they manage to pull through and stabilize at a profitable level.

Just hard to imagine with the boring, linear, short, empty, unbalanced game bioware managed to put out. The worst customer support in the industry certainly didn't help them retain any customers.

I was the guy that went in that same thread and told EVERYONE not to get their hopes up for this MMO, I was saying it before the game even came out not to get their hopes up and expect things like what this thread is talking about. You know what? You guys ate me alive... Guess what? Now you are saying what I had already said. On top of that I do play the game and while I think it is very fun it lacks... SO MUCH. I like good GFX and well more places to go and things to see... SWTOR = NO... not even in Maxed out GFX. I am not an end game player and I have never really been an end game player... I have played so many MMOs and NEVER hit level cap because they don't hold my interest for me to want to play hours on end for a month straight to power through the game and expect to get something out of it... Once you hit cap you get nothing and thats it. SWTOR most likely will go F2P just not as soon as people think it will. It has nothing to offer for it to go F2P right now. Just like when Aion first came out... I had already played some F2P games and Aion fit right in with those and it is beyond me how it lasted this long on P2P and is now F2P like it should have been.
Anyways, WoW Clone... maybe for "WoW Players" Not everything is a clone of WoW... anyone in here play DDO? No... thought so and that game is fun as heck! and it went free to play and it is still doing great! We need to face facts, MMOs are dying . They release one new one a year now and 98% of them seem to fall off. So many new mMOs are gonna be released soon, bet at least one of you guys play one of them and will say it is better than WoW and SWTOR just like you said that your last MMO was better than WoW and so on... Then you will hit level cap and go "Gee, this is JUST like WoW" .... sad.

Simmmer, oh high prophet of gaming gurus. wink.gif

Anyways it looks like the game did take a turn for the worst. I saw all this hype/ marketing/ promotions for this game along with every other EA game that came out this year and all of them seem to have came out a flop. Not to get flamed by die hard EA supportors but this is what has happened BF2 Project Reality MOD > BF3, ME3 = ending fail, now SWOTOR = hype marketing, nothing but hot air and the name Star Wars inside it.

Meaningless gesture? We all know that SWTOR players don't have friends. confused.gif

Was it really ever in question?

I knew it was going to fail the second I saw Gameplay videos and it was just like looking at Everquest in the 90's, but with Lasers.

Guild Wars 2, now I can't see that failing. No sub fee, revolutionary MMO combat and game mechanics, incredible art style and very nice graphics. Fully voiced story as well.

Started playing with wait time to log on server.
Ended this month with 25-40 players in "capital city".

They have to fix this game if they want subs.

When Guild Wars 2 comes out, it's GG. But still, have you guys checked out the rumors about the cash shop that GW2 is reinforcing, which includes 2x exp tickets and so-forth? It's becoming more like pay-2-win (p2w), but I hope it's just a rumor and that they stick to their philosophy about "play, not compete."

It's subject to change (possibly), but last I checked those extra exp, crafting exp, karma boosts, gems (which can be used in the online store or sold to other players in game from what I understand), have all been seen in the current version of the cash shop. That is, unless they removed them since I checked a few weeks ago.

WoW wasn't any better than TOR is now until they put out expansions, and in some cases, not even then.

Most people say the exact opposite.. that classic WoW was the best, BC was also pretty good, then it went to crap. I still feel early WoW was the best, before it catered to casuals.

SWTOR has better graphics than WoW, but that doesn't make the game. IMO, SWTOR is garbage and WoW has also became garbage. I see most players spending the majority of their time in GW2.

Levels mean practically nothing in GW2 and that goes double for PVP. All PVP is done with the exact same stats at the same level, soon as you enter PVP you scale up to 80 and get the best possible gear. The cash shop leaks were true, but it is a work in progress.. they've changed a TON of things since then. It's still under heavy NDA and nothing was finalized, everything in there was for feedback from the press.

If people really want to spend money on XP scrolls, then let them. You can also get them in game with gold, and they are rather useless either way. Being level 1 or 80 really doesn't matter much in the game... What you are doing at level 1 is the same thing you will be doing at level 80 end game, not sure why someone would want to rush it. Let them feed their money to ANet, it will result in a better game and they get no real benefits for blowing all that money.
