[neoseeker] Bioware giving ALL SWTOR subscribers 25 friend invites each - Page 7

If any of these TOR accounts were cancelled due to technical or content reasons, 1.2 is going to be an absolutely massive patch. They're adding another tier of armor, another operation (raid) area, a new warzone, a highly customizable UI, ranked PVP, among other things, and tons and tons of bug fixes/general improvements.

Other than that though, I find it hard to imagine people having already played through all the story missions. I'm not saying you need to in order to understand if the game is good or not. I'm just saying most of them are very good, and they're petty much extensions of what you would have played in sequels of the KotTOR franchise. Most of the "regular" (non-storyline) missions overlap and surely aren't worth doing on alts, but you can just do the storyline and supplement PVP for experience to keep the leveling pace with each zone. I guess my main point is, just from the single-player aspect, how could you not want to play through more of this game if you were a fan of KoTOR?

I'm personally looking forward to all the fixes, new content, and other classes' stories to play through. There's honestly plenty of content here for people who don't spend every waking minute of their lives logged into it.

I haven't played SWTOR yet, but really want to, but do to time constraints of life, I can only play limited of games. I hope GW2 won't have this type of bad publicity after a couple months of launch, because I waited this long. Why don't people give it the benefit of doubt that people are still interested in the game but are enjoying another game or distracted with other events for a moment and they will come back playing SWTOR. When it comes down to it. We all played many styles of game play and expect the next big thing... or that people do get bored easily. wink.gif

You used "new" and "innovative" in attempt to describe a game style that is designed to be linear and repetitive. Just sayin.

MMOs are almost all wow clones and they think they can get ahead by bringing a game that isnt as polished as WoW (even though its terrible) and get people to stay with them. The nature of MMOs is what keeps wow on top. GW2 might have a chance given that its pvp focused, but since most people who play MMO's are lazy, unaware, and bad at gaming their lack of ego will be threatened so they will recoil from it being threatened and GW2 will die.

There can be new systems of end game pve content but overall there isnt much you can actually do with an MMO. And since MMOs are based on large subscriber bases making end game super ez so every bad can see it just makes it so no one wants to play (Cataclysm). There are lots of features to be added and graphics to be updated but overall MMOs will just be the same. Creating some sort of pvp 2nd life mmo where you can buy and sell would be interesting, but just a mishmash and not really innovative.

I want an MMO where I can taste and feel and such. Like a real virtual universe. That way I can eat poo to see what its like to eat poo without having actually ate poo. Just sayin.

Tried SWTOR till 28lvl...and then didn't care.
The lore is OK I guess, but it's so...."clean?'
WoW kept me hooked for about a year.
Hopefully The Secret World can be something I like, if just for the lore.
Damn the loss of the W40k MMO!

I bet people switched from WoW to SWTOR because they got bored of WoW (like myself). Then all they saw was WoW with lightsabers. Then they got bored of lightsabers and it was just WoW, which got boring pretty quickly.

1.2 won't add anything different from what WoW does with their patches, I doubt it will make it better.

I wish they made Mass Effect MMO instead of Star Wars.

Again, EVE beats WoW hands down. You know what they say; when an EVE player leaves the game to play WoW, both communities average IQ goes up. I wish I had the time to still play that game, as it's the most in depth game I have ever laid my hands on.
OT: I cancelled my sub a week ago, I won't be coming back to that rubbish.

EVE is not an MMO, EVE is a friggan second job.

I said I might go back to wow but thats only if I get board of all the games I currently own and have to play, and once I get bored of all the free to play MMO's I also currently play.

Even if I had friends who haven't already played it (and quit), I wouldn't invite them.
I knew deep down I should have spent the money on GW2.

That would be one way to quantify it. But like work, you get heavy doses of dopamine and endorphin's for each success or failure. EVE either makes you or breaks you.

Everyone remembers mining or missions to buy that shiny new battle ship.
Warning: My first EVE PVP encounter! (Click to show)
After a week of use, you get antsy to see what it can do (feeling god like with all the power). You venture in low sec (0.4 system as you want to at least be close to high sec in case you need to run) and jump through a gate, a point and web suddenly start tearing you from you new shiny the moment you uncloak. Seventeen km away from salvation, your heart is pounding so hard you feel your head wobble from left to right every time it beats. Cold sweats, trembling and then it happens. You need to fight your way out of this, live or die. Turn your cannons on to the heretic who dared to take away your shiny. Things are looking up, you're now fourteen km away and he hasn't even gotten through your shields. The sweat subsides, you have a goal... to survive. Twelve clicks and going, and you've just hit armor, your enemy has also; you might just make it out of this. Local spikes, sweat, heart beat, high blood pressure return. You're only 7 clicks and all hell breaks loose. Thirty seconds later you're in a pod in a station, and for some reasons some of your skill points are no longer there. What the hell?! This is where you start to play EVE; this is where you realize, fairies and orcs don't exist. People are mean, and the galaxy as you know it, isn't as bright with prancing ponies as you first thought it would be. Welcome to EVE.

EVE, isn't that a macro for Excel?

And last I heard, WoW had 4 million EU/US subscribers, and TOR had about 1.5 million in the same areas. Doesn't look so bad when you compare like with like does it?
