To me it would be. As I see it, the GTX 580 outperforms the 7870 more often than not, but that's not the only reason. I'd also pay extra just to have nVidia for the drivers alone, because I have had no issues with the drivers at all. Last time I had AMD cards the drivers drove me nuts with flickering, CF microstutter, etc. The 7950 is what more compares to the 580 most of the time, not the 7870.. but it also depends on the game of course.

In anycase.. you can find GTX 580's used cheaper than 7870's are new, and still have an excellent serial based warranty if you find the right card.

hmm well i dont know then... i still think we are talking about very minimal results. hopefully the new amd drivers will be better. I still I feel like a 350+ card that just came out not getting 60fps easily at highest settings on a game that came out 6 months ago or even in the near future a rip off but oh well
