Single card, yes a 590 would get you 35k-50k ppd depending on Wu. I get 25k roughly on each of my 580's @ 900mhz on 803x units. 680's will take the crown I assume when Stanford catches up with the tech.

Is Nvidia clearly better than ATi for F@H thanks to cuda cores?

I'm pretty sure Nvidia is better because of the CUDA cores or something and yes the hyperthreading works fine (I've tried on an i3 and an i7).
I've got a few questions for someone who actually knows something about this. What exactly is PPD and how does it relate to anything? Like I was getting 30k units on an i5 with a 570 so does that mean that every 24 hours I get 30k points or something? Also I've been considering upgrading my server to fold all the time, how much better is dual 570s than dual 560Tis? I've got an i7 2600 @ 3.4Ghz that I'll fold on all the time too I guess. What are the weird units I've heard so much about like BigADV or something? Thanks to anyone who helps.

F@H loves extra threads. A 2600K will dominate a 2500K in terms of PPD production
- Which is part of the reason why I'm upgrading from a 2500K to a 3770K

bigadv just refers to the work units that take a lot more work. they will yield a lot more ppd due to their bonuses only if you have a good CPU to run them on. if you don't, you wont complete them in time for the bonus and don't get much for it. you can do bigadv with an overclocked i5 and an i7 will do well at it too. i think the 8 core AMD CPUs do well too.
