Need a Wireless Router by Thursday - Page 4

Well the router is sure nice. I got about 18Mb/s down where my rig is compared to about 5.5ish before. I did run into 1 problem though that I don't know how to fix.

On my mom's computer, I can't get the WiFi to successfully connect. It keeps recognizing the network as unknown or unidentifiable which won't bring up the internet. However my Dell Inspiron 1525 which has the same OS as my mom's laptop (Vista Home Premium), would connect to my network. I think the problem is the laptop but I'm not sure.

Every other device connected fine with my new network; rig, netbook, Dell, iTouch, iPhone.

nice that your net is working much better smile.gif

so i dont know vista at all but im sure it has a way to search for available wireless networks, which can assume you have done that and tried to connect.. make sure that her laptop is not trying to connect to an old wireless connection maybe.. but im can assume you have done everything like SSID and password.. can you connect her laptop with LAN and maybe try a driver update on her wireless card?

if a driver update done work then maybe buy her a wireless adapter, just a usb one will do smile.gif

Yeah I went into networking and deleted all the connections while offline. I had the WiFi switched off and plugged in the ethernet and that obviously worked. However when I removed it and flipped the WiFi on, it gave me the same crap. I'll try resetting some stuff and installing a new driver. Not sure what it needs but I think its a Marvell.
