Apple could cure cancer and this forum would be upset. rolleyes.gif

And yet it still couldnt figure out how to:
1. Take the iPhone 4S' camera and put it in the new iPad
2. Put SIRI on the new iPad
3. Make a non-terrible desktop (starts at $2,600 with 3gb ram)
4. Use decent hardware (5870 is their best GPU, and 1st gen i7 for desktops).

They couldn't figure it out? What?

1) They're using the iPhone 4's camera but with the same sensor as is in the iPhone 4S. It's cheaper that way.
2) They could, but why would they? It's not going to be used like with an iPhone 4S.
3) It's not a desktop, it's a workstation, and it hasn't been updated in nearly two years. Apple sells iMacs as their primary consumer system.
4) Again, it's not been updated in two years.

"Apple will become the world's first trillion-dollar company when its shares top $1,000 each, Wall Street analysts have predicted.

The technology giant's shares were worth $633.38 last week as its stock price rose above Google's for the first time."

Im sorry but that is a hasty prediction. They have a long ways to go.

1) Obviously they put it in because it is cheaper, this could be said about anything that's worse, and so that they can put a 4s-level camera in the next IPad so more people buy it.
2) Are you saying people wouldn't like to find the weather or look something up on their IPad? It's not like the software will add production cost it's just so people have to bu an IPhone if they want it.
3) Um... workstations are desktops and most workstation computers are used for editing which requires more ram then the average computer.
4) Why would they update it when people still buy it. They save a lot of money.

Just a case of Apple always holding back their technology to get more cash.

aren't the dividends (that they never pay) factored into the share price? you'd have all these people buying apple shares and driving up the price in anticipation of Tim Cook paying out some fat wads of mullah as has been hinted since Jobs carked it. you'd think that prices would stabilise once the dividends have been paid out of their reserves as per their plan...or possibly even stabilising once Cook decides that not pay out a dividend and horde the monies and people dump their shares back onto the market to realise their capital gains. just a thought.

1) The only difference between the camera in the iPad 3 and the 4S is that the latter has a 8 megapixel camera whilst the former has a 5 megapixel camera, at least as far as I know.
2) Apple advertises Siri as a personal assistant, it'd be useful on an iPad but not as much as on a phone.
3) Not quite, a workstation is for professionals, whereas a desktop is more consumer oriented.
4) Apple's said time and time again that it's the mobile Macs that make them the most money, and iDevices. They scrapped xserve a couple of years ago because they weren't getting enough sales, and I'm hoping they don't do the same for the Mac Pro. But considering it's carrying an unnecessary $1000 price tag over the competition (for the single processor models), it's probably not seeing brilliant sales.

1) The Camera in the 4S is manufactured by Sony, while the one used in the new iFad is.. Well, the old camera.
2) Siri is not useful at all.
3) Outdated hardware is still outdated.
4) People still buy that because it has an Apple logo on it.

1) Yes but the sensor is from the 4S.
2) That's subjective, and that aside, it'll become a lot more useful over time.
3) Yes, outdated hardware is still outdated. What's your point though?
4) Mmm no. Not many anyway. That certainly didn't turn out to be the case with the Xserve.
