I'm new to SSD. Have some questions

Thread Starter
Hello, I'm new to the whole SSD thing.

My motherboard is kind of outdated, so I'm just wondering if it's still beneficial to have a SSD for OS and regular HDDs for other stuff (programs, games, etc.) ? I'm asking because, I may be wrong, but I've heard that one of the newest motherboards have a new feature for SSD. Basically, with this feature on, you'd get the same SSD performance when you write / read files to a regular HDD. Something to do with SSD caching?

I don't think my motherboard has this feature. So, is it still worth it to use a SSD for OS and HDDs for other use?

Also, what kind of SSD should I get?
128GB Samsung SSD 830 (MLC)
