Yeah, I am looking for a replacement myself if that is the rules. If we have no protection and no safe zones then I wont waste my time being griefed all the time...especially if dynmap is active.

I need more input on this. Opinions are pretty divided. Personally I feel like since we have a creative server already, this server should be an anything goes server. Makes it more challenging and fun IMO.

Well I think that someone should not be allowed to destroy anything anyone else built, trespassing should be permitted.

This is a survival server, if you do not want anyone trespassing, just protect your buildings or land. Also anyone should be able to mine ore from anywhere on the map; even if it is in someone else's mine. If you are not happy about it, just kill the person, that's what pvp is for.

A few years ago i played a game named Evony. The origonal, not the newer one. It was fun, you could meet people, make frineds, the game mechanics were interesting.

And you could lose it all while you slept.

Eventually the game wasn't fun anymore, it was more fear. "what if my stuff gets hit while i'm away?". You continued playing to try and keep the likelihood of losing it all in one night to a minimum.

Nothing is safe but whats on you while you're off, and even that isn't when you're on.

Maybe some people get a thrill out of that. It isn't what brings me to minecraft though. "Survival" does not mean the risk of losing everything 24/7.

Even as a "Faction Leader", if there are absolutely no rules, then I guess I wont play. I learned that fear from Evony, and I don't plan to live it again.

Survival is to gather your own material and build up, survive mobs, and maybe some PVPing with other players... but breaking into homes should always be considered griefing, regardless.

We have to gain our material, work hard at it to do just that, why would we want someone to destroy our homes/work? Sure, we have a creative server, we can tear someone's house down and build it up in 10 minutes easy with creative mode and other means of gaining items at the tip of your fingers..

But here, it's not that simple... tear down harder to obtain blocks, no means of getting it back as fast. Some people really work hard to put up some good effort into their homes on survival compared to the creative server.

There are too much risk at letting people basically grief.
