Today the Lindy dual eSATAp/12V arrived. It is better built than the Delock ones, better locking connectors but while the PWR and Sata connectors are horizontal, the USB header is vertical and it collides with my HDD cage, so now I'll have to make a little mod to it: desolder the straight header and place a 90deg 10-1 pin header.
Hopefully on Friday will arrive the other bracket I ordered, Delock single eSATAp/12V+USB2.0 high power port, which has a 90deg pin header as standard, along with the PCIeX4 combo USB3.0/SATA3 card. Don't know if the ASmedia chip supports gen2m SATA cable length, i.e. >1m/3ft, I could route those two ports to the eSATAp/12V bracket.
Anyone knows the maximum current rating of the eSATAp/12V ports? Judging from cable and traces width on PCBs I can guess about 1A, I was thinking about using it to power my infamous DVD-RAM drive externally but it is 12V 1.5A 5V 1.7A... Edited by pm40elys40 - 3/6/13 at 6:54pm
