LF help with 2.1 system... Under $1000 budget

Hello, I started this venture in the OCN Speaker Club and decided to make my own thread and keep all my questions out of that one.

Here is what ive come up with so far,

Im getting a Asus Xonar Essence One, Pair of high quality Audiophile Headphones, Seperate Gaming Headset.

Im stuck on the speaker part.

Is there anything wrong with Active Speakers? I have been Recommended the Dayton DTA 100a and it looks and sounds like an amazing amp. However, Since im getting the Xonar Essence One i would like an amp that accepts Balanced XLR(unless there isnt a huge difference from XLR to RCA).

This Set up is strickly for computer purposes, 2.1. Music, movies, and games. I read through the forum on Audio Advice and they come up short on my Budget. Which is, $1000 for Speakers, Amp, Subwoofer, Cables..

I found these searching around and wondering what people think.

http://www.theaudioinsider.com/product_info.php?products_id=78

How would i get a subwoofer hooked up to them also?

The subwoofer im planning on using is a Polk.. not sure which one though.. Cost around $300.

If im leaving anything out please let me know.

Thanks in advance for the help

I came accross the Cambridge Audio DacMagic and was wondering if its a better headphone amp/Dac System than the Asus Xonar Essence One? They are both relatively close on price and have the same inputs and outputs. Or is it just brand preference at this point?

There are better brands than Polk for subs. I would look at the Hsu STF-1 or whatever is in your price range at elemental designs website.

The Polk fits my price range a bit better than those subs. The speakers im looking at are around $600 which leaves about $400 for a sub and the polks are pretty good for their price range.
