New to OCing bought an i5-2500k

I've been messing with for a week or week and a half now. From what I'm reading my i5 is pretty typical as far as ocing goes. MY question is relating to vcore volts at idle under load. I have pll set to auto and 1.36 vcore atm for a 4.6 ghz oc. when i run easytune6 and touch bios both say I'm getting 1.39 vcore. I tried setting pll to 1.80 and had nothing but issues with vdrop and bsod 0124. I'm using a z68xp ud4 mb. voltages seem high for this any thought on this would be appreciated.

edit temps 60-63 under prime 95 at 1.39 vcore

That's quite normal to have those voltages at 4.6GHz.

As you might know, you can't know for sure how your chip acts.

Every chip is different. Some chips can't even get to 4.6 stable.

Other chips can get to 5.

So I'd say that it's normal.

thanks. I can get 4.7 with a vcore of 1.415. This chip just seems to like voltage and I dont know how far i want to push, i think i read that intel doesnt reccomend over 1.425 vcore somewhere. temps seem fine from what im reading noone seems to concerned as long as your in the 60's from what I'm gathering.

1.42 is the "low high" and 1.52 is the absolutely maximum.

I would personally not go above 1.44 vCore.
