Hey guys, here is my Project.
Instead of Going with a new case like the CM 690ii Advanced, I opted to go the Modder route with my Elite 310 case.
I will be creating a work log as soon as I get the case.
My other one was basically ruined by me over-modding it, but Now I've learned what I need to do correctly.
So I have put alot of thought into this mod, especially the airflow. I have decided on this type of configuration using all 120mm fans
For this mod, I will cut the HHD cage so that only 2 slots are available. I dont plan on going RAID. I just want room for 1 hard drive and an SSD later on down the line.
The bottom fans will be dual 120mm Coolermasters, along with an LED fan in the front bezel. I also have room for another 120mm fan in the 2 empty 5.25 quarter bays above . And It will be hiding a Lamptron FC4 fan controller.
The Very Top Exhaust fan will be a challenge to fit, but I think I found a solution. Scythe makes low profile 120mm fans that are only 12mm wide instead of 25mm. That will save me some space up top.
I have found a very simple yet effective case mod that will allow me to run cables at the back of the mobo tray. Its super cheap and highly effective.
I also plan on either powder coating the case or spray painting it myself. Pain in the ass though, really.
But I think with the Intake fans all the intake fans at low RPM with the Exhaust fans a slight bit higher, the case will remain cool, even as I OC the CPU, with a CM Hyper 212 CPU cooler in Push Pull configuration. Let me know how you all think of my future mod. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
