guys, I have a question. im running phenom 2 x2 Be, Gskill ddr6 1600 cl7 running at 8-8-8-24. since it cant run 7-8-7-24
why is it that when i adjust cpu frequency higher than 212 with multiplier of 14.5, it crashes and restarts.. im wondering why it cant reach 250 like some other boards do.. it this related to undervoltage or exceeding ram performance since phenom runs 1333 ddr3. I just dont know what happened

when you increse the FSB ( i think thats what your talking about) that will also adjust the ram speed accordingly overclocking via the FSB will require voltage adjustments in a few places not just the CPU if your board allows for it you can adjust the ram multiplier so that your memory will run at 1333 instead of running at the higher frequency

what are you system specs it will help if you list them

That motherboard has problems running memory over 1600 from my experience. My brother has a 1866 kit in that motherboard and it will not run it at stock timings/voltage even though the FX 8120 CPU he has fully supports it. He has to keep it at 1600 just to get the system to post. Even raising the timings won't solve the problem. I highly doubt your CPU is the problem as it should be able to handle 1600 no problem.

Try setting it to run at 1333 if your adjusting the FSB. Raising the FSB raises the memory speed above the 1600 you selected.

I had the same problem with my 970 extreme 3, you have to make sure the sticks are in slots (for mine anyway) a2_b2

So for me it was the 2nd slot to the right, and the fourth slot

yeah now i get it. i tried to adjust it to 1333. it reached 230 cpu frequency. just a verification, is cpu frequency same with fsb?
with my phenom 2 x2, all i could get it cpu frequency of 226 with multiplier of 17.0. if i reach 18.5, i must lower the cpu frequency to 210. why is that so?
*i have adjusted the cpu voltage to 1.4 and cpu-nb to 1.2.

ohhh. now i know, phenom runs at 1600. but does it run smoothly? smile.gif

Yes it runs smoothly. Atleast it did for me with my 1090t. I have the same motherboard and had a 1090t clocked at 4.0Ghz. I did not have to adjust the FSB though so I used only the multiplyer. I also adjusted my NB Frequency to 2400 if I am not mistaken. You have to manually set a lot of things when overclocking AMD I have learned. I also had my ram from 1.5V to 1.55v. Again I did not have to mess with the FSB so my timings were not affected.
