Hello OCN,

Ok so i have been reading threw the threads and have come across "bigadv and hugadv". Could someone tell me what these tears are?

Bigadv and hugeadv are much larger projects that take days to complete. They cant be done under windows and have to be folded under linux either through a native boot or a VM. You have to either use a corehack to get 16 cores or have a 2 processor computer. If you only have 4 cores showing up under that setup they you probably wont be able to complete them in time.

Looks to me like you have set up the client correctly. Make sure that you have set up a passkey however so you can collect on the bonus points.

Crystalhand's explanation of the bigadv and bigbigadv (hugeadv) work units (WUs) are correct.

Couple of things to change about your current set up though, first you want to click the big finish button, that will pause both of your folding slots (the CPU and GPU are each have their own slot) when they are done with their current WU then right click on your GPU slot and click pause, that will pause the GPU right now. We want to do this because currently the GPU slot is slowing down your CPU slot because AMD GPU folding requires about a whole core of the CPU to itself to fold or else the CPU and GPU will be fighting over the CPU usage and the CPU folding will be greatly slowed. So what we are going to do to fix this is make your CPU only fold on 3 out of your 4 cores, leaving on for the GPU to use as needed, but we don't want to make that change while the CPU is in the middle of a WU or else it will lose it. We want to always make every effort to never lose a work unit due to either an unstable overclock, by changing settings that delete the work unit, manually deleting the WU, or any other way. Whenever you are assigned a WU but do not complete it then it is not assigned to anyone else until it's very long deadline passes and because you are folding just a small piece of the a bigger picture that entire picture is held back when you lose a work unit, so basically it's to be avoided when at all possible because it's a setback to the cause of folding.

Now you should have your GPU paused and your CPU set to 'finish' which will pause itself when it's done with the current WU. The change we want to make to the GPU we can make now just make sure that it is still paused when you're done. You want to follow this post to add the advanced client type to your GPu slot, this will give you work units that are better optimized for AMD GPUs. After doing that make sure your GPU is still paused and then just wait until your CPU finishes it's WU and pauses itself, once it does you click configure again and then select your SMP slot (that is the CPU) then under there you will see a screen like this under the SMP section under CPUs change the -1 to a 3 and press okay. That will change the client to using just 3 cores instead of the automatic setting of using all cores, after that is done and the GPU is set to advanced you can resume folding as normal on both clients.

A note: Some work units will fail on if folded on an odd number of cores (you can see it's mentioned to use multiples of 2 next to the SMP CPUs field) but I believe this only applies to odd numbers of 5 or more( somebody correct me if I'm wrong). Either way if you notice any WUs failed, which you can watch by in the right part of the main screen you will see "status" "system info" and "log" if you go to log and then check a box marked something like "only show errors" then you can see if you have failed any WUs and post back here so we can trouble shoot that. Also as crystalhand mentioned make sure you have a passkey and team 37726 set in the identity tab of the configuration. Go here if you need a passkey.
