Lumia 900 - Did you get one? - Page 8

Given it's easy enough to grab a Galaxy S2 or Galaxy Nexus for under $100 (or even free in the case of the S2) with a 2-year contract and no doubt we'll soon see the One X with deep discounts from Amazon Wireless a few weeks after release, the $100 price tag (free after statement credit) of the Nokia Lumia 900 doesn't mean much.

I have an LG Quantum (running Mango) and it's a great phone. It handles the basic phone functions and web browsing quite well and the interface is very fluid. Stock, I'd choose WP7 over iOS or Android. The problem is the apps. While Android doesn't quite have as many apps as iOS, they've got a big enough selection that you can usually find an Android version of an iOS app or at least a decent alternative. With WP7, there's plenty of apps missing and sometimes, the alternatives just don't work very well.

By the way, the iPhone 3GS 8GB is free (or $0.99) and the iPhone 4 8GB is $99 so those are 2 options in the iOS camp the Lumia will be competing with.

Also, every platform has some issues. I'm thinking that you are blowing any issues that may be mentioned way out of proportion.

I don't know what you're trying to point out, because the battery life is on the spec page, and on every single review site. The battery life had been stated on the official nokia website as well as personally tested by reviewers of being below or little above that listed talk time. Just google.

I've only listed two issues, and were never overly negative about the phone, esp when I'm a supporter of nokia, and forked out a ton for the n9.

Lol, I never said I didn't know the battery life. I was just pointing out that it is middle of the road and not a downside like you portray it. Even the only link you provided that compares them puts it right in the middle of 4G phones.

You also mentioned slow multitasking but I have not seen that either. I'm not lazy for not searching as you are the one making claims without providing any basis. Burden of proof is on you, not me.

I'm not saying the Lumia is some end-all phone but the majority of the complaints or criticisms I see are based on people having either not trying the OS/Phone. They hear a few bad things and just keep repeating them if they're not true or blowing them out of proportion.

Battery life is a matter of opinion and personal use right? I was merely saying that in my opinion and my usage that type of battery life is too low. Seven hours talk time is on the low end in those comparisons I've linked. Plus those battery life benchmarks have the lumia rated quite low, not just medium among lte phones. As for slow multitasking, i was refering to how windows sometimes slow down with third party apps. If you haven't experienced it then good for you. But many reviews and feedback I've seen online have suggested such. Maybe after you've used the phone more and have more third party apps you'd experience the same, or maybe not, I can't know for sure. In addition, the burden's not on me to proof anything. People were thinking of picking up this phone. I was merely suggesting that this phone isn't perfect and have drawbacks. I already have a nokia and am happy with my phone. The burden's on the people who are looking to buy the phone to do their due diligence.

Btw how do you put your computer info in your posts like you guys?

Do you mean as a phone or as a media consumption device? Phone quality is excellent (at least it has been for me) and the speakerphone is super loud. Haven't used it for too much media and nothing high quality but I have no complaints.
