This drive was on sale from numerous places awhile ago for less than $1 per GB (I think it was down to $0.87 per GB!) That said, any modern SSD will be one hell of a speed improvement over your current HDD.

I would much rather have the SSD as your primary/boot drive, and install your most used applications (and of course OS) on it. To me, using an SSD just for caching would be a waste :\

What's your budget? That's probably the most important thing in regards to buying an SSD.

That said, the Agility uses asynchronous NAND, so the advertised specs are actually much lower in real world scenarios. The Vertex on the other hand uses synchronous NAND which provides much better performance. OCZ got a bad rap for awhile because of the shotty Sandforce-based firmware that was released with some SSDs. If your SSD has problems from the start (regardless of brand), try a firmware update, that fixes 99% of issues.

After personally owning a first-gen Vertex 1, three second-gen Vertex 2's, and a third-gen Vertex 3, I've never had any problems. I sold the previous drives, and the current owners don't have any problems either!

After the Sandforce debacle, OCZ bought Indilinx and is currently using that in their new Vertex 4 lineup (and presumably for the rest of their SSDs) for better quality control.

-EDIT-
Regarding the M4:
The M4 is a solid choice, you missed a sale on the 120 (or was it 128?) GB version of it a few days ago too, it was on sale for $130 after MIR/promo code.

If you want to get a good deal on an SSD, check camelegg.com for Newegg price history, and slickdeals.net for current/upcoming deals!

The firmware updates have resolved the majority of the issues plaguing the sandforce drives, such as drives dying far too soon. I gambled and got an OCZ drive, I've been happy with it so far, but it's only been a couple months. Many around here highly recommend the Crucial M4. It has a very good reputation as far as reliability.

Yeah that drive is the one im looking at, looks really good i might consider buying that instead of the OCZ drive as iv heard and seen countless reports (Even after new fw) of Sand force dieing and all this unreliable stuff about em and it really is making me edgy to go OCZ. And on newegg it shows faster speeds for the OCZ vs the M4 in the stats for write speed and what not.

There were lots of problems with the OCZ Sandforce SSD's (especially on intel machines), but they seem to have the bugs worked out in the newest firmware (2.15 I believe).

I am actually on a netbook with a Agility 3 right now.

The M4 is the go to drive at the moment though. Decent price really good real world speeds and is pretty much rock solid.

The M4 beats out the Agility, and trades blows with the Vertex. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/350?vs=425

The only reason I chose OCZ's Vertex 3 over the M4 was because the Vertex 3 was on sale at the time (M4 wasn't), and I've had very good experiences with OCZ's products (SSDs, PSUs, you name it) in the past. I'm sure if the 120 GB M4 went on sale for $130 when I was looking for a larger SSD for my sig rig, I would've jumped on that.

I will say that Crucial's M4 has also had it's share of problems, but nowhere near the scale of OCZs, and Crucial got their act together quite quickly while OCZ was a bit slow to address the issue.

I've had the agility 3 60gb for about 4 months and it has been great. Huge performance boost over a mechanical hdd and so far there hasn't been any issue's (touch wood)
