Get the Athlon 64 3000+ socket 754. You should be able to get it to 2.4GHZ. I have the same processor but its socket 939 and i have mine at 2.43GHZ.

Some options...
1. A good FHS on the cheep that works good for either 754 or 939.
http://www.provantage.com/arctic-acfzp64~7ARCT002.htm
Use that to OC your current set up further or...

Get a " ADA3700BNBOX" 3700+ @ about $97 which should OCwell. do NOT get the " ADA3700CFBOX! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103539
Pair that up with a Biostar T Force 6100 939 for about $70 and you'll do well.

You will have to look elsewhere, it's out of stock

Normally you can say if you oc a (for example) 3000+ from stock 2000MHz to 2500MHz you have a 500MHz gain so double it and add the 1000 to your rating (3000 + 1000 = 4000) so get 4000+ rating!

Please correct me if im wrong!

Well an 3400+ has a speed of 2.4ghz with a L2 cache of 512Kb

An 3700+ has a speed of 2.4Ghz but with a L2 cache of 1Mb

So mines running a little better that the 3400+ becouse the 3000+ only has a L2 512Kb cache

As for the upgrade for under $100.00 you would be best served with the 3000+Venice 754 for $67.00 here
Or for a jump up in price to $155.00 for a Turion 64 MT32 here
