He has a budget of 175 guys and that's before rebate. For the price though, the 6870 can't be beat.

physx doesnt create more eyecandy, it simply offloads physics calculations to the gpu instead of the cpu.
hence, using physx will add more strain to the gpu. A good idea if you have a slow cpu but doesnt really help if you already have an i5 or i7

I wasnt saying physx creates more eye candy, the extra eye candy i meant was nvidia things, like ambient ocllusion etc... i know physx is seperate.
and anyways an i7 is still nowhere as fast as a gpu when it comes to handling physx
