Do i need a new HDMI cable for my 120 herz screen?

Thread Starter
Hello to all.

Recently i got my samsung s23a750d screen (120 Herz). The package did not include a HDMI cable and so on i connected my old tv HDMI cable that is not a full HD and it is 60 herz
I play Battlefield 3 and i noticed that next to 1920x1080 resolution it has 60 herz.
Do i need a new cable or it is something else?

no HDMI cable can do 120HZ period. It can't do that high of bandwidth yet, maybe int he future. If you want real 120HZ like 60hz per eyes the only way is through dual link DVI or Displayport.

If you connect your 120hzmonitor through HDMI, you will get either 60hz@720P or 24hz@1080P for 3D contents

Incorrect. The 750D actually lacks DVI. 120hz @ 1920x1080 can be achieved by display port as well, which is what you have to use with the 750D. The 950D and 700D models are the ones with DVI where you don't have to resort to display port.

60hz per eye? That's referring to 3D, not 2D 120hz.
