Few Monitor Qs and suggestions on next purchase

these questions will be followed by pictures to help, I'm not a monitor expert, its why i came here.

Recently i upgraded from my old 26" Sanyo TV to a real Monitor, its a Samsung 24" LED LCD, and i LOVE IT, sadly it was a Walmart buy, so i took a risk, it's running well, and cool as well, i got a deal on it as they were pushing its model off the floor, and it was nearly 25% off.

Pros: its amazing color, looks good, has DVI input (i don't like what HDMI does to my eyes) and was in my budget.

Cons: Floor model, and i hate Walmart, but i have had very bad luck with ordering monitors from online, as UPS in my area does not take care of things, and i have called and complained with no luck, receiving 3 monitors with multiple dead pixels in the center of the screen, not one, not two, but THREE times. with marks on the box to boot, so I'm skeptical about buying online.

Now to my question, i am looking to get 2 more monitors, to run most likely in portrait mode on the sides on my main display,
my issue at the moment is, i just got the new Asus HD 7850, and it has 1 DVI output and 1 HDMI, along with 2 mini display ports, i have NO experience in using these and need some help properly using them, i want to use DVI connections for everything, but there are SO many adapters to choose from, I'm afraid without asking.

so i need a proper adapter link if possible, because i have no idea what Dual link DVI or regular is.. blah blah and i don't want to get burned and go through an RMA process.

My current Setup (this picture is my Sig Rig)

338

Now, with this I'm looking to get 2 more monitors, here is what i have to work with, i would LOVE to mount all 3 on 1 stand, issue with that is, the current monitor i have, does not have a back plate/mounting holes on it, its a pedestal model only.

So i need 2 monitors that will tilt/swivel and compliment this monitor, so should i purchase 2, or go with 3 brand new ones and attempt to trust the shipping again.. any PC store near me is out of the question nearest one is a 3 hour drive 1 way, and i cna get jsut about any monitor, but the more it costs.. the longer i will have to wait.. but i can put about 350 every 14 days towards this, so if i could get 2 nice monitors (or even 3and i can let my roommate have this one, he needs one BADLY) for this budget, i can make it happen.. thanks for the help guys/gals its always apreciated

$350 every 14 days, would take you 1 month to be able to afford 3 really nice matching monitors. That's what I would do, but I did get 1 bad pixel on a monitor I ordered once and know how annoying it is. My newest monitor I bought locally to avoid this problem, sorry thats not an option for you. But ya, I would get 3 matching, thinnest bezels I could find.

this would be great but if i can get 2 matching ones that look nice on the sides of this current monitor, and has a portrait mode, i would be happy as well

Well its all in what you want, I know I would want 3 matching ones.

I know you hate Walmart, but have you thought about if you can order to the store? Then you get more options and the ability to return it if there are any dead pixels.
