M18x Speakers.

I have never really tried to set up speakers before, so I really would not know what to do. My laptop has OK speakers they work for me nice bass, and there pretty clear, but I was just wondering I have searched guides, and does tuning your speakers help, most people tune for different music tastes, but I listen to a wide range right now I just went from dubstep to trance, to rap, Adele and then some metal. So is there just away to do all around tuning?

I would get a pair of bookshelf speakers and a amp or a good pair of computer speakers. Your gonna need to spend more then $100 if you want a decent setup, even the best LCD TV's have sub par audio. Same goes for laptops.

The sound in my laptop is fine, I just wanted to know if I needed to tune it.

No need to tune it, wouldnt do much anyway. Laptop speakers are pretty low quality anyway, they are really only there to give off sound. Get a nice pair of headphones at least.

even something like this would be a huge upgrade over the stock laptop speakers.

Also a good usb sound card wouldnt be such a bad idea, it does make a pretty noticeable difference. My soundcard was a huge upgrade over the stock, Kinda like going from SD to to HD.

Not trying to diss your stock speakers, but once you get a taste of high quality music you never want anything less.

I would also recommend not getting anything Bose, all it is is lackluster sound for a insane price mark up. Your better off getting Polk Audio gear or equivalent and a good amp like Yamaha or Pioneer. All you get from Bose is to much bass, lot of highs and a huge lack of mids. Plus they give off that small speaker sound that I hate, makes voices sound non natural.

I have used high quality speakers and very pricey setup before, I own a Logitech 5.1 set up (not high end I know). Looks like I will just stick with stock speakers still happy, but just wanted to know if I needed to tune them like a screen

Edit: If I do go speaker rout, what is a good express card sound card, do they even make them?

Will allow you to do full 5.1 with that Logitech setup.

I only use a logitech g51 speaker system on my pc, but my HTPC on a polk setup and sounds amazing biggrin.gif
The G51 works wonders still, the surround makes BF3 vary immersive.
