Me first PC setup, AMD. - Page 8

If you buy an aftermarket cooler for your gpu, get the Zalman VF3000 series. My 5870 stock would get up in the 80's or 90's full burn and I could barely overclock it. Now with the VF3000A I'm seeing max temps of 43C. HUGE difference.

As for the overclocks. The better the cooling the better the chance to hit higher numbers. But it also depends on which batch it comes from. Some batches came out better than others during the fabrication process. I've seen people post max 4.6-4.8 for their 2500k and I've seen people post 5-5.2 or even higher (I think the higher ones are starting to use custom cooling solutions like large water systems or peltiers etc.). Even if you only hit 4.6 to 4.8 it STILL crushes the competition, walks all over them and then gets a bite to eat while it waits for them to get up so it can crush them again.

So i just gonna keep this setup and MAYBE buy a new cooler, I dont think i will since the cooler of ASUS looks nice and i dont see any diffrence between yours and asus his? "7970"
If you put this on the NVIDIA it could have diff i think tho.

So should i look for Batch numbers?
If so do you know a site / batch numbers that i certainly NOT pick?
I would like too overclock it at circa 4.5 GHz for sure though. 5.0 would be nice tho. biggrin.gif

Do you guys think me airflow seems ok?

If i do everything PUL in me setup "also H80" and the 2 fans at the top out takes,

Since Hot air go's up the cold and warm air should get filtert out of the PC?

But maybe those 2 140mm arent enough for out takes?

From what I've been reading it looks like most batches are hitting 4.5 but don't make me swear to it. It's the 5.0 that people are being selective trying to hit or exceed. I would wait till you get the case and see how the fans in it are doing. I only added one 120mm on the side and one on the bottom just to add a little more but it was pretty good with the ones that came with the case. But you can EASILY add more fans to the HAF cases in multiple sizes.

Well i think i now gonna wait a bit,
And if i have the money i rebump this topic, too be sure i have the right stuff.

And if there are extra FAN space i think i will buy some more of em i guess.

Maybe i buy first all components and afterwards some extra fans, cause i aint sure where theres still space nor what MM they can be.

I was also thinking of buying a Lamp for in the PC ? biggrin.gif
Would like nice i think... biggrin.gif

Btw i proberly just gonna buy the H80,

I have so much doubt,

If i would install a classic Liquid cooling or not :/

They look and perform just Great, Mmm :/

Imagine you set it up wrong and it leaked, you would be without a pc for a while. I remember my first build I short circuited the whole thing blew the motherboard/cpu and powersupply. I was going to go with watercooling aswell with my new build next week but its so close to all the new games I want to play and I would cry if I didnt install it correctly and it leaked. tongue.gif
Tho if you enjoy your pc as a hobbie then apparntly watercooling is very rewarding and fun to maintain and expand. I am just scared I dont do the leak test right or cut the tubes properly etc. Good luck.

Well if you test it "first day or so" i heard you need too do a paper clip in the 24 connector, So only your Pump is on,

Let it run like that, bleed it out, Be sure you did everything right "i think compressers are best for the tubes?"
And i think it should be fine?
Idk never did it,
Just readed/watched movies at youtube.

Aint sure, I just think of buying it since it isnt that expensive at all anyways,
A H100 is about the same price as for a complete liquid cooling "150-200 euro"

Btw how many fan rads can fit in a HAF x?

3X140 or 3X120 or 2x140 , 2x120 ?

Could someone help me with getting an Liquid Loop components?
I would like too do the CPU and graphics card with Liquid,

The RAD can be big as possible, if the HAFx allows it.
