Building i7 2600k with Sabertooth Z77... need help with SDram modules??

Hey guys,



I wanna build this system

CPU : i7 2600k
Mobo : Asus Sabertooth Z77
DDR3 SDram ??


I wanna hit the 5Ghz bar with this cpu..

I will use my H100 watercooling on it..

hope i can do it.



so what rams do i need?

I can fill 4 slots.. or leave 2 out of it =P

Cmon man, dont bump your post after 1 hour..

I would suggest going for some fast ram rather than high capacity, and you should be able to hit 5 GHz I believe from seeing other peoples OC with that CPU, but I havent tried SandyBridge so I dont know how it overclocks. But I dont think it would be a problem.

Not all chips are created equal. You should be able to hit 5ghz with a 2600k but at what voltage will be the question. The h100 should be able to get you there or relatively close at 4.7ghz-4.9ghz with acceptable temps.

As for the RAM..grab yourself 8 gigs 2x4gb 1600mhz. Lower voltage the better.

why low voltage on RAM ?

i thought higher voltage ones could handle more..



I'm stepping from AMD to Intel..

so i don't really know what Ivy is?

and Z77 motherboards sound really good to me
