inverter gone bad?

Macbook pro 15" year 2009-2010?

Anyways the screen wont turn on when booting. Computer turns on i think. Cost me 8 bucks for the cable to see if its the gpu.

Me thinks is the inverter.

I got it to boot one time and now it wont. Its slow also. Gptta reformat once i get the screen to turn on.

2009-current MacBook don't have an inverter that is replaceable.

oh its the 13 inch so i guess i have to replace the whole LCD and get that ribbon into that black bar

Exactly what model is it? There is a known issue with the GPU on the nVidia 330m used in the mid-2010 model.

its exactly the macbook pro 13"

i bought a mini DP for like a 2005 macbook which is stupid of me so

i just bought another one just in case.

right now i got the screen to work and reinstalling OS and hopefully it doesn't bugg out on me anymore when i put it back together later on tonight, but that doesn't solve the problem that if it does bug out again what should i do? just use that adapter and tell him if he doesn't get a screen response to use a monitor?

Oh ok, I missed where you said it was a 13". Did you check to see if the LVDS cable was secure to the logic board?

it was secure to the logic board when i took it out. i left it alone for a week and decided to do it today.

now it works. like it wakes up from sleep and everything.

supposedly installed the new OS but i got nothing from the new format it still showed the same username and everything on the desktop so much for new. (or considering it was repairing the OS who knows)

anyways yeah it works fine now. i thought it was either the logic board or the screen.
