I know, I need to sit down on oc it myself!!!! I think I'dd buy some new ram, 3x4gb higher end, re-apply some thermal paste, and look into a ne hhd. Then a 2nd 7970, and ride it out!!

hey thats a nice chip you got there biggrin.gif my 970 does 4.46 at 1.46v
@keeith yea just sit down and do it one night... its fun, i have a few friends over some beers and some games for stressing. we have great times

Yes I do, and i'm think most of the stuff I buy for it now will switch over to a newer rig. just swap out cpu/mobo.

but like I said I'd like to keep this setup aslong as I can, and then see what options are out there.

But I see my quad at 4ghz doing fine on gaming for a few yrs to come!

This is my 1st Intel chip, I was a AMD guy, but my 1st was a ole P4!!

o yea it will do fine.. and honestly 2 7970's will do great for a while as well.. jsut grab an ssd and youll be good for atleast a year

I upgraded from a 960 to a 2500k and it's a very small upgrade. I'd keep it for awhile. My main reason to upgrade was proper SATA3.
