Rubbing the casing repeatedly on cloth isn't a pretty good idea, it seems.
Other than that, I've had customers send me graphics cards in umbrella bags, and they're still working.

I'll have to keep that in mind. I used to do that before I had a large desk to work on. At the time, it was either the bed or the carpet.

I built my first computer on a carpet, just laid the components right there on the carpet. Knock on wood, those components are in a backup rig alive and kicking to this day smile.gif

ESD damage is very rare, but it does happen.
