Correct me if I'm wrong.....

Thread Starter
To overclock my processor i must increase the fsb and lower the htt multiplier to
whatever number will produce the closest number to 1000 when it multiplies by the fsb. But then i have a question. What does the memory do in response to this? Does it adjust by itself or do I have do it manually?

Example: FSB:240 HTT Multi:3x Clock Multi: 13X Memory Speed:?

GOD IM CONFUSED

Couldn't I just Increase the multiplier to 14?

Memory will have to be adjusted manually for best stability..Auto Oc'ing can prove to be problematic.

Provided you do not have a divider on your memory. your memory speed will be the same as your FSB... if it is dual channel it will be double the FSB. if your memory speed is set to "AUTO" (in the BIOS). it is likley that the BIOS will have applied a divider at that speed, it is not often that DDR400 memory runs at 480 or above so your motherboard will alter the memory speed to try and achieve a speed of 400.

HTT, use 4x up to 1040 and drop to 3x beyond that.
