Is what I want possible??? - Page 22

not trying to knock heads here, but i wouldnt go with the yate loons because a fan controller is needed, which would interupt the sleek look of the front of the switch 810 ( i took out my cd drive just to have a clean front) and the fact that they arent very aesthetically pleasing, they arent sleeved, they have three connectors attached to that cable that will show if you plug them into a motherboard, and may be hard to hide behind case and still reach a controller.
plain looking and not up to par with a high quality build, also a review said that this type of bearing wont lubricate properly when mounted horizontally, which 3/4 of them will be

Something like this should work fine, it will cover the four high speed fans, and if you wanted to you could hook all of the fans up to it by hookinh up two fans to each knob.

wow thats cheap I honestly thought the be like $50-100, but $20 thats not bad at all, plus those yate loon fans are really cheap. Im going to look more into the yate loon and the aero cool, but I think I might get this fan controller if I cant find anything better. Thanks a lot thumb.gif

well that is a bit upsetting lolll, but the fan controller @subcutaneous picked out looks like it would fit very nicely with the switch 810
post #214 of 288
actually, none of these fans are good, jus replace your side panel with a wall of fans

get a NZXT Sentry Mix fan controller (great looking) and a couple sleeved NZXT FZ Fans, LED if you want.

however, at this time, extra fans are not needed.

Yeah the Yate Loons are certainly not a super "high end" fan, hence the price being half or less than any comparable fan. They are just a good low risk investment in my mind, but they weren't designed for looks it might be smart to paint them if you bought them. You could certainly afford the paint with the saved money....

The video was cool though, I'm glad to have a little more info on these models, and I couldn't seem to find anything this useful on them.

- Some fan controllers can go down to 7v, while others can go down as low as 5v, and if you watch that youtube video you will probably want the ones that can hit 5v. Sounded pretty quiet at 5v, and I don't think there's any time you would find yourself running them above 8-9v.

Lastly it is true that sleeved bearings are not "designed" to run horizontally, but that doesn't mean just about everyone who buys these runs a couple that way..... Personally I've been running mine for ages now without issue, and four of them(yate loon sleeved bearing fans) are mounted horizontally. Maybe it will fail eventually but by then it will just be a good excuse for me to place a new order smile.gif

I do have to agree you with you on the fan controller it does look very nice, and I dont hear too many great things about the nzxt fans. The reason why I do need the extra fan is because my room gets hot in the summer, and I plan on over clocking the graphic card tongue.gif. Nzxt leds arent bad, but these are better

How long have you had your yate loons for? I do want these to last im not saying forever, but for a good while, because if they don then I think I might by the aerocool shark ones

I'm excited to see this build come together. If i were you, id grab a couple cans of spray paint and get the case early, and paint it up how you like it. the plastic on the NZXT cases is super easy to paint, and the panels disassemble very well.
