I bought this as part of a bundle off my local Craigslist, and was planning on selling it after I picked out what I wanted from the bundle. However, it doesn't read discs very well, so I don't feel right charging someone money for it. Thus, here it is as a freebie!
What I have to give away is an original model SCPH-1001 PSX console. This is the first model released in North America, and is somewhat desirable to audiophiles because it contains a high quality DAC and analog RCA plugs for video and audio out.
As I mentioned, it doesn't read discs very well. Apparently this particular model is more prone to laser problems than others. I'm lucky to even get to the menu screens with the PS1 games I have, including ones that are completely scratch free. It plays music CDs fine, only with a couple of skips, but much better than games.
I've heard of a couple tricks to get it to read discs again, including a very simple one that involves increasing the power of the laser, but I haven't tried any. This model is also compatible with lasers out of any of the PSone "slims". I can tell that the case has never been opened, so everything is completely vanilla.

I already have a perfectly functional PS2, so I have no need for it.
Freebie includes:
- PSX console
- Two PS1 controllers
- Power cable
- PS1 Games (three demo discs, Battle Arena Toshinden, Destruction Derby, Felony 11-79, Revolution X, and Wheel of Fortune)
It does not include any kind of video cable. It will work with a standard PS2 composite video cable, or any standard AV cable with RCA plugs.
To enter:
This freebie is open to anyone with at least 1 REP and joined OCN before April 2012. It is also open to anyone in the world, but anyone outside the USA will be expected to pay for at least part of the shipping fees. Free shipping within the US.
To enter, simply make a post which includes your favorite PS1 game.
Freebie ends at 11:59PM EST on Monday, April 16th and the winner will be selected using a random number from random.org.
