I went with black tubing so it matches everything. thumb.gif I guess my G.Skill ram has a small red sticker on it, but other than that it's black. I'm not a huge fan of the deluxe's looks either but it seems to be the best Z77 board by a long shot.

Performance before looks in my opinion. I can't really justify spending more on an inferior product just for looks. The eVGA board is more expensive, and has less features than the deluxe. I can assume the Maximus Extreme will have nearly equal specs to the deluxe, but cost around $50 more. Main benefit will probably be better 3/4-way SLI support due to the PLX chip, won't make a difference for single GPU or 2-way SLI users. From what we've seen, the chances of a Maximus Extreme coming before Ivy Bridge is slim. So if your willing to wait on a maybe... i'd wait for the Maximus Extreme but your going to end up paying more strictly for looks most likely.

Right now the Gene seems to be priced nearly the same as the deluxe, and it's probably going to overclock worse (if only slightly) due to the VRM's being better on the deluxe. I would expect nothing less when comparing mATX to ATX. tongue.gif

*shrug* Deluxe seems like the best move if you can get past the looks. Best features vs price on all of the $280+ boards announced so far.

Evga just hasn't been the same for motherboards since the x58 days, they should have treated their old design team better so they stayed...

You can see it in the pic next to the GENE.

The are developing THIS heatsink that works with watercooling and pasive cooling.

True, but all the work to match the colors lol. I could go black or white tubing but still have to change out the ram. I needed to change it anyway based on the 1600mhz.

Also the Deluxe seems to be more feature packed then the Sabertooth one as well.

Sabertooth Z77 if you are worried about color scheme. The colors on the board don't stand out that much as they're mostly dark colors and the board is excellent. Lots of features, great warranty, etc..

VRMs better on the deluxe than on the Gene? Are you talking number of VRMs or quality?
