The drive is mountable is I use sudo mount /dev /folder -t filesystem however, this is not the most ideal way of doing this when I plug several external drives in and then want to mount each one of them and then dismount them. How can I fix it so I can use the KDE Service to mount devices again?

Not sure if you are being sarcastic, or sincere. smile.gif

How would I resolve the issue though? As of right now, I am still unable to mount the devices through KDE's USB Device menu.

Sorry...I'm no help. I was actually kind of just bumping it for you because it doesn't make sense to me. It looks like you plugged in the drive and kmix among other things crashed...which makes no sense to me (why would an sound mixer crash on drive being connected) outside of KDE crashing when you plug in this drive. How big is the drive?

Why not mount them during boot through fstab itself.

IronMaiden because it is a USB Flash Drive. And I have so many different ones, that it wouldn't be reasonable to mount them through Fstab. Unless you know of a better way to add an fstab entry.

OK. That's even more bizarre. Though maybe it is something to do with nepomuk/strigi settings that you have. Do you have it set to index removable devices? I can't remember what is the default setting. Maybe you should ask Shrak or one of the other more knowledgeable members. redface.gif

I don't use KDE and haven't in a while, so don't know the tools used. I just use fstab with defined aliases to mount the few drives I have. frown.gif

Hmm if IIRC you could add an entry in mtab, apologize if I am mistaken as it's been pretty long since my linux days, I think I should get back to linux smile.gif
