How's the acer Iconia a100?

Thread Starter
Hey - I'm in the market for a cheap tablet. Specifically for playing videos and web browsing.

I was playing around wit an acer Iconia a100 in the store a few months back and it felt alright. I think I would prefer a 10 inch tablet for browsing but the 7 inchers felt way more comfortable to use.

Would it work to play videos off an external hdd?

I will be spending all summer in a camper with no internet so my idea was to load my external hdd with all my videos and then just play them on my monitor using the tablet as a media player.

Also - ICS for this tablet or is it better to just root it?
