I'm actually building a PC from the ground up. smile.gif

In that case the 7850 or 7870 are both great choices for a new build, but if you are willing to wait prices will probably go down when the next Kepler card comes out.

Last question: will a 7850 run fine on this motherboard?

You guys have been very helpful, thanks a million.

In fact, two of them should work on that board (Crossfire)

If you are buying a PC for gaming, I would advise against going AMD. For now, performance per single CPU is what counts more than the number of cores. FX-8xxx series will blast an intel i3 or i5 on CPU-munching tasks like video encoding. but when gaming, i5 is way better (and even i3 in some games) than FX-8xxx. If you are on a budget or really like AMD for some reason, I'd advise to go with FX-4170 because it will outperform any FX chips in games. More powerful FX chips may be a good choice if you do video editing or any CPU-intensive tasks but don't care thatmuch for gaming.

unless your build is going to be nothing but gaming, and you can find an inexpensive Phenom II Thuban processor, I would go i5 2500k or wait for ivy bridge.
an fx 4170 would do fine in most games tho, the 6200 even better.
