Shinobi Window XL Free End-User Review Samples (and more!) Up For Grabs

Hello fellow clockers! Contest Closed

Usually, our samples are shipped to the media for a more professional tester/reviewer. However, we're focusing more and more on reviews and feedback from the community because in the end, you guys are the ones giving us the thumbs up or down on our products after they're in your hands.

Here's your chance to show us what you can do with our Shinobi Window XL no fan grill!. On top of the case sample, we'll also provide you with your choice of Alchemy cables, Alchemy LED's, and as many Spectre Pro's as you need for this build.

Below, please tell us:
1. Why do you think you should receive a sample
2. What parts will you be using
3. Type and color of Alchemy Cables and qty amounts
4. Type and color of Spectre Pro with qty amounts
5. Type (length) and color of Alchemy LED's

After receiving your samples and place a system inside, please share your experience with our products with an end-user review. A post in this thread, along with one in the "member reviews" section would be greatly appreciated. I'll update this OP with the links to both reviews.

We'll pick 2 winners a week from today (April 17th, 11pm PST) to receive samples.

Good luck!

Below, please tell us:

1. Why do you think you should receive a sample?

I've been interested in working on reviews for quite some time, but I've never had the opportunity, so I'm particularly interested in exploring BitFenix products from the following standpoints: aesthetic appeal, price point, build quality, cooling capability, and flexibility in terms of component layout and cable management. This is especially important to me since lately there seems to be an abundance of reviews that portray the positive or negative aspects of a case--such as cable management or component layout--then decide not to outline these details in photos and descriptions.

However, I also want to maintain a moral integrity with my readers by being as objective as possible since I know other enthusiasts like me will be examining and analyzing my review to determine whether these BitFenix products are right for them. I am a firm believer that no one product will be perfect for everyone, so it is of significant importance to me that that I not only highlight the positive but also discuss any potential displeasure I had or others may have as I examine these products. That being said, I will use the listed components and illustrate my build in a log so that readers can get an in depth feel of what it might be like to work with these components.

2. What parts will you be using?

This review will be using the following components:

(1) Antec - KÜHLER H₂O 620 Heat Sink
(1) Asus Xonar DX 7.1 PCI-Express Sound Card
(1) Black DVD Optical Drive
(1) Corsair HX850 Power Supply
(1) Crucial Adrenaline SSD Cache Drive

(1) Gigabyte Wifi / Bluetooth Combo PCI-Express Card
(1) Intel i5 2500k CPU
(2) Hitachi Deskstar 500Gb HDDs in Raid0
(2) Nvidia GTX 460 1Gb
(4) G. Skill Eco 2GB DIMM

3. Type and color of Alchemy Cables and qty amounts

(1) BitFenix Internal USB Extension Cable - 30cm - Black Sleeve
(1) BitFenix 8Pin EPS12V Extension - 45cm - Black Sleeved
(1) BitFenix ATX 24pin Extension Cable - 30cm - Black Sleeve
(1) BitFenix Audio Extension Cable - 30cm - Black Sleeve
(2) BitFenix 12” Alchemy White LED Strips (if possible)
(3) BitFenix Molex To 3 x 3 Pin Fan Adapter 5v - 20cm - Black Sleeve
(4) BitFenix 2pin Chassis I/O (PWR/RST/HDD/Etc.) - 30 cm - Black Sleeve
(4) BitFenix 6-pin Video Card Extension Cable - 45 cm - Black Sleeve
(4) BitFenix SATA3 (6Gb/s) Cable - 30 cm - Black Sleeve

4. Type and color of Spectre Pro with qty amounts

I came to this thread due to seeing the offer on BitFenix's Facebook page.

I think i should b e sent a sample as i have always been intrigued in the Shinobi XL but funds restrict me from buying one lol
I'd be using the following components:-
AMD Phenom X6 1090T o.c @ 4.1ghz
Corsair H80 in push/pull (maybe with some spectre pro's wink wink)
MSI Nvidia GTX550ti
Kingston V100+ 60gb ssd (boot drive)
2 x 320gb Samsung HDD's in RAID 0
Corsair HX650 PSU
8gb Corsair Vengeance Blue 1600mhz o.c @ 1710mhz (2 x 4gb)
MSI 870a-G54 Motherboard

For what i have in mind i would require
1 x 24pin extension
4 x Sata Cable
1 x 8pin 12v Extension
1 x Molex to 3x Molex adaptor
1 x Molex to 4 x Sata Power adaptor
1 x Audio Extension
1 x USB Extension
2 x 6pin PCI-e extension
All in red if possible

I'd also require
8 x 120mm Red LED with black casing.

As for the Alchemy LED strips i'd need
2 x 60cm in white
2 x 30cm in white
Would have 2 x 30cm stuck onto the side panel for lighting inside the case and 2 x 60cm inside the front of case shining on the fans so it gives white background with red leds from the showing. Have this effect on my current case and it looks awesome.

If by some chance i were to receive all of this i'd be the happiest person in Leeds

Hello.

I was redirected here from the BitFenix facebook page.

I have posted on the facebook wall with my own modded BitFenix Colossus ( where I've put a 360 rad inside ). But now I would like to try a case where it actually fits without "ghetto modding".
I will not be writing a long post why I should get the things from you as I don't want to be a fraud. It's free stuff, everybody loves free stuff and everybody will try to get it.

My cousin and I have already worked on his Shinobi XL, and we loved it. I would really like to get one because I like the build and also try something new.

My cousins build :
480

If I'd get one, my shinobi would be a little different.

Motherboard : Asus Sabertooth Z77
CPU : i7 2600k with CPU watercooling from EK
RAM: 16gb Corsair vengeance 4x4gb
Drives : 1 TB Seagate 7200 RPM, 1 crucial m4 128gb sdd, 1 80gb Intel X-25 ssd
Radeon HD 6970 with EK water block plexi ( so u can see the watercooling)
Phobya Pump and Reservoir
EK 360 Radiator
Aurora Mayhem UV BLUE
Corsair AX850 Modular

What I'd ask for is :

2x140mm White Spectre Pro
6x120mm White Spectro Pro

1 x 24pin extension
4 x Sata Cable
1 x 8pin 12v Extension
1 x Molex to 3x Molex adaptor
1 x Molex to 4 x Sata Power adaptor
1 x Audio Extension
1 x USB Extension
2 x 6pin PCI-e extension
1x 8pin PCI-e extension

2x60cm white leds

All sleeves should be white if possible.

Yours
Kay

To start, I would also be posting a build log similar like my HTPC Build with full sized components.
Not completely so to say as a review, just saying build log showing steps I did when building it together while at the same time I can do the review in with it.
http://www.hitechlegion.com/forum?task=viewtopic&id=7206

It will be like a review sort of but a little funny to keep readers interested so to say.

1. I think I should receive a sample because Im no case modder I enjoy Getting better performance but if I can make it look good as well then thats a plus.
Acessories and Lighting from Bitfenix have been some things I been interested in because they provide what most people do as a Modder alone but this way they dont void warrantys.

I use products how they were originally meant to be used, Unmodded.

It would be just in general a Fun rebuild and review to do the best I can, as a Gamer as well as see how it turns out.
I know Modders can most likely bring more to the table then me, but hey Gamers like making their cases pretty as well without losing Performance completely as well as a Noise ratio.
I know its not much to why I should receive a sample but hey, Im a gamer, and wouldnt mind tinkering up my rig that looks bland as heck.

Things like this makes me have fun, I overclock semi, I also readjust my rig prolly one a week or every two weeks to see if I can get it in better looking, so its a never ending project for me just simply on the Re-arranging side for cables and what not.

Plus I just simply love building a rig, I love how it always turns out in the end, even if I have a few hiccups along the road due to a certain problem such as broken parts or having to add more cables because PSU manufacturers make them upsidedown and make us have to add a seperate cable such as sata power to get to the top of the chasis for the dvd drive which we all know... We put it there, not the bottom... lol

Would be a Amazing opportunity to do this with bitfenix and the Overclock.net community.

f2AeOl.jpg

2. The parts I will be using are...
i7 2600k
Antec Kuhler H20 620
G.skill ripjaws Blue color DDR3 1600mhz
Asus GTX 560ti in SLI
Gigabyte Z68x-UD3H-B3
Coolermaster Hybrid 1300watt PSU
750gb seagate momentus xt Hybrid Drive (On the way in the mail soon)
1TB Western Digital Black Caviar HDD 7200rpm
OCZ 30gb SSD (May or may not use depending on when the Momentus XT Hybrid drive comes in)
2x Cougar 120mm Vortex HDB fans in Push Pull for my Antec Kuhler H20 620(If I use them but most likely will not because this is a BITFENIX Review and im pretty sure you want to get the most you can out of it.).
Xonar 7.1 Soundcard. Of course a DVD Drive as well haha.

READ THIS PLEASE! EVERYTHING THAT IS ORANGE OR RED CAN BE CHANGED TO BLUE IN THESE BUILDS IF YOU WANT PERSONALLY BITFENIX TO ACCOMMODATE THE BLUE MEMORY I HAVE NO PROBLEM DOING SO! ESPECIALLY SINCE NO SPECTRE PRO LEDS ARE MADE ORANGE YET!!

I just thought Orange is a unused color these days and wanted to change it up =)

3. Type and color of Alchemy Cables and qty amounts

1x WHITE Intel EPS 8-pin extension 45 cm

1x WHITE ATX 24-pin extension 30 cm

2x WHITE SATA cable w/sleeve (Hard Drives) 2x Orange SATA cable w/sleeve (DVD Drive) and (30gb ssd)

2x White 6-pin video card extension (will be used for Main GPU Connectors for first slot of each GPU)
2x Orange 6-pin video card extension (will be used for secondary connector "2nd slot on the right" for the GPU)

1x Orange 6-pin video card extension

1x White Molex to 3 fan adapter 12V 20 cm (used for Fans not being able to connect to motherboard)

2x Orange 2-pin Chassis I/O 30cm
1x White 2-pin Chassis I/O 30cm

OPTIONALS Which would be fun to include are...

1x White Audio extension 45 cm
2x Orange internal USB extension 30 cm (I dont really use USB 3.0 because everything I have is 2.0 >.>)

4. I have three choices sadly due to if I can not use certain fans
First Choice of setup is 2x white 120mm Spectre Pro Led's and 1x Sprectre NON PRO ORANGE Led, and 1x 230mm Spectre pro Led White.

the 3 120mm will be up top going White Orange White, and in the front the 230mm will be White. Because the 1x orange and 1x orange LED Strip would be more then enough to give a good white to orange Ratio IMO.

THIS IS INCLUDING THE COUGAR FANS FOR PUSH PULL Which I most likely will not use since you want it all bitfenix probably.

The second choice of fans would be...

2x WHITE 230mm Spectre Pro LED and 1x Red 230mm Spectre Pro LED
SO IF POSSIBLE REPLACE RED WITH Non PRO Spectre LED Orange 230mm if its allowed.
It will be Going from top 1st 230mm in the back WHITE, then next to it Red then the front White. For a red glow from the middle of case 230mm LED hopefully mixing with the White to dim it down to a orangish tint, and a underglow of the window from the LED Strip Orange so I can get a pure Orange and white case so to say.

Wish you guys had Orange PRO led fans! frown.gif

3rd choice (most likely will be using because you guys most likely will not substitute for Non pro led) would be ALL White Led fans which will be 1x 230mm white(front of chassis), then 5x 120mm white Spectre Pro LED Fans (push pull on radiator as INTAKE so air blowing in the radiator from the out pushing it into case letting top exhaust) as well as 3x 120mm top as exhaust.)

5. Type (length) and color of Alchemy LED's

1X Alchemy Connect 30cm ORANGE so it can go under the window to bring a orange tint glow as well mixing with the white and orange LED from the Spectre fans.

I think that just sums it up since I wanna go with a Orange glow with tad hints of orange parts but white still showing through all that orange, and have a nice Color scheme even though I have one odd part which is the blue Memory but I doubt it will be noticable after all the other color =)

Also cant wait to see with all these extension cables how much room you have in the back still to hide all the extra cable length from adding on the extensions, would be a fun project to do and take pics of and show the building process if chosen, especially as a gamer hehehe.

Also if I can add any cables on my motherboard I do it because I like using everything I can I dont like to cut out front panel connectors when I use them quite a bit hehe.

First let me say this, I am emailing the bitfenix store to see if the Hydra controller is available, Do you know if there would be a way to purchase it if its out of stock or just wait until V2?

Thanks again!

1. Why do you think you should receive a sample?
I have been modding and building for a short time now and am always trying to build and mod as often as I can and would absolutely love adding this case to my arsenal of parts. I have had m eye on this case ever since it came out and almost purchased one however I did not because of the lack of a side window which is why it is great to see that this one accommodates one. I am really looking forward to this potential build.

2. What parts will you be using?
CPU: Intel Core i7 2600k
MB: ASUS ROG Maximus IV Extreme
PSU: Corsair AX1200
GPU: 2x SLI Water Cooled GTX 580s or 680s
SSD: OCZ Vertex 3 60gb
HDD: WD Green 500gb and WD Black 1tb
Optical Drive: Samsung Bluray Drive
Water Cooling: Enzotech fittings, Swiftech 360 radiator, haven't decided on CPU water block yet
Case: (if I'm chosen) Bitfenix Shinobi XL with window!!!
Cables: red alchemy cables from Bitfenix

3. Type and color of Alchemy Cables and qty amounts
1x ATX 4 pin extension (red), 1x ATX 24 pin extension (red), 2x Internal USB extension (red), 4x SATA cables sleeved (red), 4x 6 pin video card extensions (red), 2x 8 pin video card extensions (red), I/O Chassis extensions (red), 1x audio extension (red), and any extra would be great!

4. Type and color of Spectre Pro with qty amounts
1x 230mm (black), 1x 140mm (black), 6x 120mm (black), and any extra would also be great!!

5. Type (length) and color of Alchemy LED's
