Depends, what is your 3700 clocked at, is it at 2.2 ghz or is it overclocked?

i can't get it to go over 2.2 without it crashing, but i don't really know how to do it so I just don't mess with it

If you have a non-overclocked 3700+, it would be a big difference. It would be cheaper to get an aftermarket cooler (Big Typhoon) and clock your 3700+ up to FX-55 speeds though.

Well, if you decide to take the time and learn how to overclock your rig, then the stock speed of an FX-55 (2.6) should be easily attainable if you have a decent stepping. If you chose not too learn how to overclock, or you dont have a board capable of overclocking, then you will definatly see a difference with the upgrade.

i had a tt typhoon and it didn't make a huge difference with my amd it did with my p4 though a huge difference. I've bid on the FX55 for like 140 so I'll see if I get it. Hey also, I have sli 7600GTs and and only score like 80K on aquamark, is there something wrong because another guy was getting like 120K with a single video card and an fx55

Depends on what video card he had, if it was overclocked, if his proc was overclocked, so on and so forth.

Auqamark is not optimized too well for SLI. 3DMark06 would be better for that. I got a 3570 in 3DMark06 w/ 1 7600GT, and then a 5470 with 2. That was a nice increase.

Please fill in your System Specs via the USER CP at the top of the page

That MB and CPU should easily hit about 2.6 even with a poor stepping.
Some reads that may help you along in OCing...
