Yeah nforce should run okay at stock though? Its just not good for OC?

Its just a matter of me getting enough money to SLI but yes eventually i will also get a new OC mobo. But previous advice was that this mobo would run okay at stock? I was getting desperate to get it up and running as i didn't have a comp for about 6 months and was going through major withdrawals.
That motherboard will be fine for stock and minor overclocking.

Thanks again, i'll roll out another gig of ram and fingers crossed it fixes my problems. Maybe i could take it into a store and ask them to test it with another 1gb of ram and if it works i'll buy it off them!

Also, if i change the resolution in game. Sometimes when i am running really high resolution 1600x900 in CSS. I will start to see strange blue, green, red dots on the walls. Sometimes they appear slowly and there are like 1 or two and there aren't that many but the longer i play, more start to appear.

Then randomly i will get a graphics problem where i get corners of walls flashing or showing bad graphics. Or a stretch of a wall in the middle of the screen which appears and disappeares when i move around.

Hopefully this is to do with the lack of memory as it doesn't seem to happen on lower resolutions. I've tried different drivers so can't be that.

Hrmm... Just found this on the nvidia forums. They say the GPU is at fault.
http://forums.nvidia.com/lofiversion...hp?t14226.html

Arrrrgh and another one http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=16303

Seriously, i hope that is not the problem for me as part of this build i have already returned one faulty GPU and got a refund then bought a different card from a different store. What do you guys reckon?

Thought i'd post a couple of screenshots of my problem. Could this be a memory problem? or most likely the graphics card?

Shot one - Random coloured dots start to appear in game
Shot two - graphics start to get all messed up. Eventually gets so bad i can't play as i get random walls appearing in front of me.

Try testing for stability with ATI Tool. Download it and test for artifacts. If that comes up, you might have to reduce your clocks a little.

Not sure if it's already been posted, but what are your GPU temps? They could be getting too high and causing artifacts.

What kind of PSU do you have? That could be causing the problems.

okay will do, after about 1 hour of solid gaming the GPU temp hovers around 44-45 so should be fine.

Since i only have 1GB memory i'm thinking that might be holding my PC back as i seem to struggle with high res games. but still this could be a faulty card.

The PSU i am running is 520W ATX V2.0 Power Supply (20+4pin Design), Single 120mm fan, PCI-Express ready. PSU Specification: +3.3V=28A,+5V=34A,+12V1=20A,+12V2=17A

Well GPU temp goes down very quickly so you're best checking the temperature WHILE you have a game running. Or was that what you did? If so, that's a pretty damn good temp for a fully loaded graphics card.

It's true that your PSU might not be supplying enough juice to your card. Can you find out how many amps the PSU has on the +12v rail?
