There have been a few questions around and about regarding Aquamark3 - what to run it on and how to get it to work. So here is my guide.
Aquamark3 can be run in WindowsXP 32-bit or Windows7 64-bit (these tend to give the best results). It is primarily a CPU/Memory benchmark, and on the GPU having fast memory is paramount.
Things you will need:
Aquamark3 Download: http://91.121.148.119/downloads/benchmarks/HWBOT-aquamark3-1.0-Setup.exe (includes 64-bit patch and wrapper)
Step by step:
a) download and install the file above
b) Goto C:\Program Files (x86)\Aquamark3
c) Delete direcpl.dll
d) rename Aquamark.exe to Aquaman.exe
e) Goto C:\Program Files (x86)\HWBot Aquamark3
f) Run wrapper.exe, click 'Run Benchmark'
g) A popup will come up asking where aquamark.exe is. Goto C:\Program Files (x86)\Aquamark3 and select Aquaman.exe
h) run benchmark
i) exit benchmark
j) Open up 3x CPU-Z (CPU, Memory, Motherboard)
k) Open up 1x GPU-Z
l) Press 'Take Screenshot' in the wrapper
m) Press 'Save result' in the wrapper
Don't forget tweaks!
XP: Set Affinity
Level of Detail (LOD)
AMD Performance settings (using ATi Tools)
Sometimes BenchTec Toolbox, disabling services works in XP but not always
