I am going to get a 3770k when it comes out. I'm on a tight budget as I am selling old parts to purchase the new. I will have 500$ base so I need to get a CPU/Mobo/Ram. I can come up with the rest if need be but I need to justify it.

My choice for z77 are below :

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/SABERTOOTH_Z77/

http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z77A-GD55.html

Those are my two top choices.

I am looking for
1. High quality ( I am going to O.C. the crap out of the 3770k)
2. Ability to support quad fire (2x 5970s)
3. Decent amount of Sata ports 2 Sata III is good enough for me.

If you look at both of those Mobos they have the same Intel Lan chips and same audio as well.

If anyone else has any other suggestions for a z77 let me know.

Reps will be given out accordingly.

The ASUS Sabertooth without a doubt.

Sabertooths are known for their high quality components and toughness. Also the Sabertooths comes with a 5 years warranty I believe. I'm sure the MSI board is fine, but it cannot match Sabertooths 5 year warranty and the product as a whole

The Sabertooth also has a very clean and slick look, due to the motherboard covering

What about this
GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD5H LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

vs the z77 sabertooth. Which would you pick? i checked out the review by sin for the Gigabyte ud5h and it was very convincing.

I'm sure that Gigabyte mobo is top notch, however I don't like the looks of it. And for some reason I just like ASUS boards better. But the fact that Sabertooth has a 5 year warranty makes it even more attractive.

It's your choice, but I know I would have gotten the Sabertooth.

If it was me I would get the sabertooth. I Like the look of it better, The Asus bios is also nice, great warranty, etc..

If you were deciding between either the z77 sabertooth or the Gigabyte G1.Sniper 3 then it would be a tougher choice but in this case I would go for the sabertooth

Z77 Sabertooth it is. I am sure the 5 year warranty will come in handy. This will be my last desktop build for quite a while. I am expecting this build to last till I get my PHD tongue.gif .

I already know a few things about the TUF series boards. I was just wondering if anyone else was tight on cash would make the decision to opt for a cheap solution.

Thank you .

I've been tossing around the GD65, UD5H, and Sabertooth... but it always comes back to the Sabertooth for me smile.gif The combination of looks, function, and warranty seal the deal for me. It's an investment... and it'll probably be the last high-end desktop I build for a few years (we'll see about that)
