Is this a waste, or is there a benefit? (Update Page 2, have issue) - Page 2

Do you game on your laptop? Does it matter if you have to wait a few extra seconds?

Is (seconds saved a year * life of laptop) + enjoyment < ($40 / dollar per hour you earn)?

Your laptop may not even be able to run 8 GB. ??? Even if it can I doubt you'd see any tangible benefit in performance from moving from 4 GB. to 8 GB.

I didn;t mention this in the OP, but my laptop is having freezing issues, its either the harddrive or the memory. I cannot repair bad sectors in my harddrive so I was going to upgrade the memory and have Western Digital replace the harddrive to make sure this problem goes away.

My laptop has a first gen i5 and I play battlefield on it, battlefield alone nearly uses half the system memory when I do so. Lenovo and Intel both say the chipset supports 8gb

shut down and touch the memory. You'll know if it's 144C for sure.

It's possible you installed lower voltage memory than what is needed.
